Chapter 10 - First Hunt

Alan exhaled slowly, looking at the notification as the flames from his sword faded.

[ 554,000 experience has been acquired. ]

[ Your level has risen. ]

[ Your level has risen. ]

[ … ]

[ You are now Level 56. ]

[ You have obtained 560 stat points. ]

[ Achievement Acquired: Monstrous Rookie ]

Achievement Effect:

All stats +10

When fighting enemies over Level 100, all stats increase by 10% ]

"Another new title. Good," Alan nodded, then frowned.

"But… no drops."

"Well, I still have plenty of monsters to hunt," Alan whistled as he continued deeper into the dungeon.

He encountered more kobold warriors and cut them down one after another. Finally, after his seventh kill, his first drop appeared.

[ You have acquired Crude Sword (Common). ]

Alan didn't even bother picking it up and continued onward.

Soon, he noticed a single kobold standing apart, surrounded by six kobold warriors.

[ Elite Kobold – Level 170 ]

"An elite monster. Good," Alan nodded.

To be safe, he checked his level.

Level 91.

That meant he now had 910 stat points, since each level granted 10 free points.

"Hm… I'm a blacksmith, so Dexterity comes first."

Alan focused and increased his Dexterity to 1,000, investing 390 stat points into it.

"Now for the rest…"

Strength: +250

Agility: +250

Stamina: +50

Intelligence: +50

[ Do you wish to allocate your stat points? ]

[ Once confirmed, this action cannot be reverted. ]

Alan reviewed his stats one final time, then pressed Confirm.

[ Stat points remaining: 0 ]

A surge of power coursed through his body.

Alan clenched his fist slowly.

"…I feel much stronger."

"Looking good," Alan nodded.

He activated Haste and Fire Sword, feeling the surge of speed and heat flow through his body. The moment he closed the distance, he swung.

Crescent Slash.

Thanks to his overwhelming speed, his body blurred to the kobolds' eyes. A flaming arc carved through the air—a brilliant, crescent-shaped wave of fire that shimmered as it traveled.

The five kobold warriors didn't even have time to react.

Their bodies were cleaved apart in a single motion, collapsing where they stood.

Only the Elite Kobold remained.

Its health had been reduced to a thin sliver.

The Elite Kobold got stunned due to heavy loss in health at once.

Alan stepped forward calmly.

Heavy Strike.

His sword descended like a falling mountain.

The Elite Kobold's head split cleanly apart, its body crashing to the ground with a dull thud.

"…Well," Alan muttered, rolling his shoulders.

"Guess I underestimated myself a little."

Those watching him from Satisfy Headquarters nodded heavily at his words. In truth, many of them felt frustrated.

For blacksmiths, levels normally mattered a great deal—higher levels increased the probability of crafting higher-rank items. Yet Alan had ignored that rule entirely. Instead of grinding levels like everyone else, he had focused solely on refining his craft.

And despite being only level 21 at the time, he had successfully crafted over one hundred Rare-rank items.

It was something that defied common sense.

From a purely statistical perspective, his current combat power now rivaled that of a mid-level 250 player, despite his actual level being far lower.

And that was without even drawing Dainsleif.

So, now seeing him wokring on his levels they felt excited as to what degree he can grow.

Alan, on the other hand, continued hunting without pause. Before long, he arrived at the boss room, stopping just outside the entrance.

Inside waited the dungeon boss—

Level 180 – Kobold Shaman (Boss)

As a boss-type monster, its stats were heavily reinforced, standing at two to three times higher than those of a normal Kobold Shaman of the same level.

Alan glanced at his status window.

His level had already risen to 113, and his stats had undergone their first awakening.

This awakening was what truly separated a level 101 player from a level 100 player.

Before level 101, every point invested into Strength granted 3 points of health.

After awakening, each point of Strength now granted 6 health points.

The same principle applied to other stats.

Previously, each point of Intelligence provided 3 mana points.

Now, each point granted 12 mana.

Stamina had also doubled in effectiveness—

16 health per point, compared to the pre-100 value.

Agility no longer just increased speed.

After awakening, it significantly boosted accuracy and attack power as well.

In short—

Every 100 levels triggered an awakening in the game, dramatically increasing a player's power multiple times over.

Alan hadn't invested any more stat points after level 91, as he no longer felt the need. Even without using his skills, he could easily defeat monsters, and that's exactly what he was doing.

After killing the elite Kobold, thanks to his consistent practice, his Sword Mastery had increased significantly.

It had now reached Level 4 in Basic Sword Mastery.

[ Basic Sword Mastery Level 4 ]

[ When Blade type Weapon is Equipped

Increases physical attack by 4% and critical hit rate by 2%.

* This effect is only applied when a sword type weapon is equipped.

* The skill consumes no mana. ]

"Now… it's time for the boss," Alan muttered as he stepped into the boss room.

At the far end of the cavern, the Kobold Shaman sat upon a crude stone throne. Two Elite Kobolds stood beside it, while more than thirty Kobold Warriors filled the chamber, blocking the path forward like a living wall.
