Estadey finished taking out the clothes and was on her way to her neighbor's house when she spotted a man near Gloria's house who was squatting behind a blueberry bush.
He wasn't moving at all as if he were a statue. Since his face was blocked by the bush she couldn't see his face.
"I'm sure this is the magical barrier source, right ? " he asked himself.
"No it isn't. "he thought while scratching the back of his neck. He was confused by how he couldn't spot the witch's hide out .
"Excuse me, sir."Estadey interrupted his thoughts.
"Aahh ! you scared me you little brat. " the man lashed out at her while blocking the sunlight on his face with his hand then stood up . "I'm sorry,I didn't mean to but what were you doing over there ? she asked.
"Is it any of your business ?" he told her and sneered .Estadey looked down and nodded internally accepting that truly it was none of her business. But he could be a thief or a spy.
The man intently stared down at Estadey folding his arms then sighed.
"Wait a spy,who would spy on Aunt ?"
The words slipped out of her mouth barely audible but the man still heard it .
"Listen brat if you tell anyone you saw me here,then you know the answer ." he warned her in a threatening tone while tightening his grip on her shoulder.
Thier gazes met,both staring intently into each other's eyes.
After a minute of silence ,he withdrew his hand from her shoulder and walked away. "Strange ? she has a witch's presence but her eyes carry a different aura....like pure aura ,ugh forget it."he thought while walking.
Estadey kept on staring at the man until he was out of sight ,she didn't know why but felt the urge to follow him but that's just stupidity. She was a little shaken by his threat but convinced herself that whatever he said was nonsense.
She turned away and headed towards her neighbor's house but saw how the front yard was dirty,scattered with leaves ,so she placed the basket of clothes on the wooden stairs .
As she started to sweep, the wind joined in but became a nuisance .
Scattering the piled up leaves in different directions and the ones being swept.
Annoyed, Estadey decided to pick the leaves up one by one .
On her way to dump the leaves in the rubbish pit,she noticed Gloria's sandals at the door way of the house's back door .
She quickly threw the dirt and went to get the sandals.
"Something's not right ."She said.
The soil was dry and hard around the house but under Gloria's sandals had fresh mud as if she stepped in the mud right now. But Estadey was in doubt. "Aunt has a walking problem ,so she definitely can't walk far places to step in mud. "She thought then decided to check in the house.
