Chapter 84 - Chapter 84 : Hongsuo and the Demon Prince

Honsou's words filled Calgar and the other Ultramarines with rage.

This 'bastard' dared to declare in front of them that the age of Primarchs was over.

Such arrogance and insolence, he showed no regard for the returning Lord of Ultramar.

Guilliman also looked at this Chaos Warband, responding to him with a mocking tone,

"You say the age of Primarchs is over?"

Honsou raised his battle-axe, adopting a fighting stance,

"Cadia has fallen, the Imperium's demise is a certainty,"

"You can't change anything. Why don't I just take your head and end your suffering?"

Such arrogant words made Alex, who was in the midst of a bloody battle, look at Honsou a few more times.

As an old Warhammer fan, he naturally knew the origin of this Chaos Warband.

Honsou was the first mixed-blood Chaos Space Marines in history,

one of the War Smiths of the Fourth Legion—the Iron Warriors,

the creator of the Daemonculaba,

and the lifelong enemy of Uriel Ventris, the Fourth Company Captain of the Ultramarines Warband.

From a much-discriminated 'bastard' to a Chaos Warband of the Eye of Terror.

Honsou carried the genes of both the Imperial Fists and the Iron Warriors Legions,

which was why he was called a 'bastard'.

As for why Honsou had genes from two Legions,

one had to mention the mad Apothecary of the Emperor's Children Legion—Fabius Bile.

During the Horus Heresy, Bile murdered the Iron Warriors' Apothecary 'Glorious' Solaka,

and fused his gene-seed with a gene-seed taken from Captain Felix Cassander of the Imperial Fists.

Due to a laboratory accident,

the container holding this hybrid gene-seed was contaminated,

leaving only the words 'Honsou' on it.

After Honsou was cultivated, he was despised by his Iron Warriors comrades because he had some Imperial Fists genes.

They often called him by the insulting nickname 'bastard'.

Despite being heavily discriminated against, Honsou still relied on his outstanding tactical skills and extraordinary courage,

to carve out his own territory in the Eye of Terror,

becoming one of the three Champions under War Smith Barban Falk.

War Smith was a special position in the Iron Warriors Legion.

Company Captains who performed exceptionally well would be granted this title.

After becoming a War Smith, the next step was to become one of Perturabo's closest Trident members.

Barban Falk was a veteran from the Great Crusade era,

having experienced the Horus Heresy and the Long War.

The Adeptus Mechanicus fortress 'Heart of Hydra' was built under his supervision.

On the eve of the Thirteenth Black Crusade, Abaddon ordered him to plunder the Imperial Fists gene-seeds stored in the "Heart of Hydra" fortress.

Honsou participated in this war with Barban Falk.

After successfully conquering the Heart of Hydra fortress and plundering the Imperial Fists gene-seeds stored within,

Barban Falk received a blessing and was promoted to Daemon Prince.

Before he returned to the Warp, he appointed Honsou as his successor.

The other two unlucky individuals who were also Barban Falk's Champions died during the 'Heart of Hydra' campaign.

Honsou, returning to the Eye of Terror, inherited everything from Barban Falk,

and, as agreed, handed over most of the gene-seeds to the Great Raider Abaddon.

He secretly kept a portion of the gene-seeds,

and collaborated with the Dark Mechanicum to develop a wicked production system called 'Daemonculaba'.

The Daemonculaba involved fixing female "tool-humans" onto 'production machines',

feeding them nutrient fluid mixed with gene-seed fragments,

and inserting catheters that infused Warp energy for fattening and catalyzing mutations.

Subsequently, teenagers, as new recruit candidates, were forcibly inserted into the uteri and stomachs of these tool-humans.

The bodily fluids, rich in Warp energy and gene-seed fragments,

would cause the candidates to rapidly grow and mutate into Space Marines, who would then be birthed upon maturation.

New recruits produced through this method were all skinless.

Only after passing inspection would the skin of living humans be flayed and 'applied' to the new recruits.

Those who failed would be directly flushed down the sewers, becoming what were known as 'Skinless Horrors'.

Later, the Daemonculaba was destroyed by Uriel Ventris, the Captain of the Ultramarines' Fourth Company, who also nearly killed Honsou.

An enraged Honsou consequently launched the First Ultramar War.

However, in his first invasion, he was so utterly defeated by the Ultramarines on the planet Calth that he doubted his own existence.

Originally, Honsou had cornered Ventris and his companions.

But then, an Imperial hero who sacrificed himself on Calth during the Horus Heresy—Ventannus—manifested as a Cursed Warrior and intervened in the battle.

Under the assault of the Cursed Legion, Honsou was utterly defeated and forced to feign death to escape.

He hid on Calth for many years before finally seizing a spaceship to flee.

This incident deeply bothered him; those rotten Imperials cheated when they couldn't win, even summoning Cursed Warriors.

Honsou had always been thinking of how to get revenge on the Ultramarines,

so when Abaddon invited him to invade Ultramar again,

he accepted without hesitation.

"Jie! Jie!"

A sharp, malicious laugh, like the crack of a whip, echoed.

The air grew increasingly cold.

Shadows rapidly accumulated, forming a twisted demonic shape.

"Mk'kar the Reborn."

Woldaes recognized the daemon at a glance and spoke its name.

Mk'kar the Reborn was a Daemon Prince, originally named Maloq Kartho,

a Dark Apostles of the Word Bearers Legion during the Horus Heresy,

and one of the Word Bearers commanders at the Battle of Calth.

To reward Maloq for the genocidal acts he committed on Calth,

The gods blessed him, allowing him to ascend as a Daemon Prince, only to be banished by Ventanus, the Captain of the Fourth Company of the Ultramarines at the time.

M'kar ignored the stares of others and fixed his gaze on Calgar.

His crimson eyes gleamed with malice and hatred.

During the last invasion of Ultramar with Honsou, Calgar had utterly destroyed his essence and killed him with the Blade of Perdition left by Ventanus.

If not for the expansion of the Eye of Terror and the intensification of the Warp Storm, causing his remaining soul essence to resonate with the turmoil of the storm, he would still be dead.

Upon seeing M'kar's appearance, the players' faces filled with surprise.

"Holy moly, a Daemon Prince Fragment actually appeared."

"M'kar the Reborn, wrong. M'kar the Disgraceful, correct."

"Take pictures, take pictures, we must remember this."

"..."

Gabe, in the comms, mimicked M'kar's voice with a comical tone.

"This time, I won't lose again."

"Do you know how painful it is when Brother Drag cuts people? You don't know!"

"Do you know how fast the Second Captain's sword is? You don't know!"

"Do you know how hard Calgar's fists are? You don't know!"

"Do you know how terrifying Mefiston's psychic powers are? You don't know that either!"

"But I know all of it, because every single one of them knocked me down."

Gabe's vivid performance made many players burst into laughter.

M'kar did not hear the players' conversation, but he felt the contempt and humiliation, and his crimson body trembled with rage.

"Today, all of you will pay the price."

M'kar's voice was venomous, full of hatred.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Deafening sounds continued to echo as Hell Talons landed one after another, and hordes of Chaos Space Marines emerged, surrounding the temple.

There were also Warp rifts torn open by blood sacrifice rituals, from which Daemons poured out.

If the Primarch had not been resurrected, such a terrifying force would have been enough to annihilate Macragge.

"Then let's see who will pay the price."

The Primarch's gaze swept over the enemies, and he charged forward, wielding the Emperor's Sword.

A Daemon lunged at him, but with just one swing of the sword, it was reduced to ashes, its soul utterly extinguished, making resurrection impossible.

M'kar's eyelids twitched at this sight.

The sword in the Primarch's hand was even more terrifying than Ahriman's Blade of Perdition!

But he had no choice; this was his last opportunity.

If he failed again, he might fall once more.

There are countless Daemons in the Warp, some of whom were gods of ancient races but fell for various reasons.

Daemons that cannot inspire fear and despair are worthless and powerless.

Just like Samus back then, when the noble Luna Wolves warrior, Loken, no longer feared, that Daemon became incredibly weak.

Though the enemies were numerous, for Guilliman, it would only take a little more time.

He moved through them as if unopposed, with no one being his match.

The Emperor's Sword swung wide and powerfully, and the Gauntlet of the Warden crushed everything in its path.

Every strike from the Primarch was accompanied by a shower of severed limbs and mangled bodies.

"I want to see just how strong a Primarch truly is!"

Honsou saw his subordinates falling like cut grass and could no longer hold back.

He charged forward with the robots he had created.

After the failure of the first Battle of Ultramar, Honsou had learned from his painful experience.

In the Eye of Terror, he created these formidable war robots, mimicking his Primarch Perturabo's Iron Circle robots, capable of easily killing even Chaos Space Marines.

Five war robots accompanied Honsou as they launched an assault on the Primarch.

However, within a few seconds, Honsou finally experienced firsthand what a Primarch was.

In a single encounter, one war robot was bisected by the Primarch and chopped into scrap metal.

Immediately after, the Primarch's gauntlet unleashed a barrage of projectiles, completely disabling another war robot.

The remaining three war robots were sliced into burning wreckage as easily as cutting melons and vegetables.

They were completely wiped out without even launching a single effective attack.

Honsou swung his battle-axe, but before it could land on the Primarch, he was kicked in the chest, flying out like a cannonball and smashing through several marble pillars.

When he tried to get up, a sharp pain shot through his chest.

He looked down and saw his chest plate shattered, with sharp fragments embedded in his flesh.

He didn't know how many ribs were broken, a truly miserable sight.

Honsou's face turned pale.

He finally understood that a Primarch was not someone he could contend with.

Only the most powerful Greater Daemons under the gods could fight him.

"Lock onto my coordinates and teleport me back."

Honsou communicated with the warship in orbit.

He must have been out of his mind to think of coming down here.

M'kar launched a sneak attack on Guilliman, letting out a strange howl.

Guilliman didn't even look; he simply backhanded a sword thrust directly into M'kar's body.

Blazing flames enveloped the Daemon's form, causing it to burn fiercely.

"This is vengeance for the Battle of Calth. I will settle accounts one by one. You are just the first, Maloq Kartos."

Guilliman slowly pulled out the Emperor's Sword.

M'kar screamed in despair.

Then, this Daemon Prince was reduced to ashes.

The Primarch looked around and then fixed his gaze on a new target: the Masked Dancer, who had been exiled for angering the Prince of Pleasure.
