Chapter 379 - GAM Ch 379: A Bromance for the Ages

"I think it is better not to sign," Lacus told Garfield her final decision.

Garfield did not think much of it.

It was a perfectly reasonable decision.

He then put away the contract scroll and pulled out his modified version of Old Ma's philosophy.

"Let me first introduce you to the ideology of society. Even as a Coordinator, an advanced natural being, you are too young to understand these things, so our teaching pace will be slow."

Lacus asked Garfield with a puzzled look, "Can you teach me without signing a contract."

Garfield nodded. "That relates to another part of the deal. I will be responsible for teaching you morality, social politics, and so on. In the future, when you achieve your dreams, I will take a portion of the technological achievements."

The intelligent Lacus continued to ask Garfield, "Are those things very valuable."

Garfield did not intend to lie to her and nodded directly. "Yes, they are valuable relative to your civilization and regime, but not unaffordable for you. To give you a simple example, do you know what your current warships are like."

Lacus nodded and replied, "I know."

"That is one of the things I will take in the future, so when you build these things, you have to give me an extra one. It will be the most advanced at the time."

"What if I cannot fulfill my end," Lacus asked.

"Then you will not get anything."

Garfield spread his paws. "It is alright if you fail. I can get it myself. There is nothing in this universe that can hurt me."

Lacus looked at Garfield with suspicion.

After all, when she first met Garfield, he was a pitiful stray cat.

"Alright, do not look at me like that. I was ambushed by a ferocious beast that could destroy the universe when I was traveling through a time tunnel."

A time tunnel.

In Lacus's world, this still only existed in textbooks.

Their PLANT and Earth's combined technology could not even reach the speed of light, let alone space jumps or space folding.

"My God, does this thing really exist."

"Ignorant little fool, of course it exists. I have been to many worlds, and your low tech world holds no appeal for me except for some nostalgia."

"Why."

Faced with Lacus's question, Garfield bluntly told her, "You do not even have a faster than light engine here. You are not even as good as a mass produced fighter jet in my other universe. Understand."

Lacus was deeply shocked.

Garfield explained the most basic modified version of Old Ma's ideas to her, and then told Lacus to rest.

There were still seven years left, and Garfield was not in a hurry.

He even had time to go to Earth and build up his own power.

The next three years passed, and Garfield secretly began to gather talent and develop his power on Earth and in PLANT.

A new High Claw Group was established in the Cosmic Era universe.

When establishing the group, Garfield thought of someone to help him.

Jean Grey from the Star Wars universe.

He took a quick look around and found that the Star Wars universe was doing quite well.

His High Claw Corporation continued to be profitable, and the Jedi Order was still being outmaneuvered by Palpatine.

His fleet was also steadily expanding, and several large military industrial companies in the universe were being swallowed up by his vast wealth.

Yoda from the Jedi Order had even approached him about this.

Qui Gon Jinn, who was in charge in the Star Wars universe, had spoken with Yoda several times on behalf of Garfield, telling him that Garfield was not in this universe and would not be able to return in the short term.

He assured him that the High Claw fleet would not do anything to the Galactic Republic, and that the long standing cooperation with the Jedi Order would continue.

After receiving these assurances, Yoda said nothing more.

In fact, they knew that as the High Claw fleet continued to grow stronger, the Jedi Order's mere ten thousand men were no longer enough to resolve the situation.

To fundamentally solve the problem, they would need to deploy a much larger fleet.

Even without Palpatine in the Council, he could still influence decisions to restrict the Jedi Order from possessing their own fleet.

In his eyes, as long as the Jedi Order did not have a sufficiently powerful fleet to support them, Palpatine would naturally have ways to deal with them.

As for Garfield's fleet, Palpatine had considered countermeasures.

Given that Garfield's fleet was almost entirely composed of clones and mechanical units, he planned to use a computer virus to retaliate, achieving a program that instantly turned all the fleets into his own.

The smug Palpatine was unaware that the core control program for Garfield's mechanical soldiers was created and written using Cybertronian technology.

After taking an industrial mothership from the Star Wars universe, Garfield instructed the remaining personnel to continue working, secretly met with Jean, and then left again.

He began the secret expansion of his industrial mothership in the Cosmic Era universe, in a place beyond the detection range of the Earth Alliance and PLANT.

A Star Wars industrial mothership contained everything needed to build a fleet.

The only thing missing was the special energy required for fleet construction.

The universe was different, and some of the substances it contained were also different.

These exploration missions were carried out by exploration ships aboard the industrial mothership.

They handled dangerous situations independently, only notifying Garfield if they were truly unable to manage.

Another impressive technology in the Star Wars universe was quantum communication.

A communicator the size of a sausage could be used to receive signals across galaxies.

Garfield, naturally, did not want to carry it with him, so he gave it to a robotic dog that had been modified to resemble a sheepdog.

Garfield thus had a convenient mode of transportation, only needing to lie on the robotic dog's back each day.

According to Lacus, she now suspected that Garfield might one day have his four legs degenerate into those of a sea cucumber.

Over three years, the conflict between PLANT and the Earth Alliance intensified.

Patrick Zala's pro war faction gained more support, while Clyne's faction began to weaken.

Athrun met Kira in Heliopolis, and the two shared a nearly century long bromance, similar to that between Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes.

While their relationship was going well, Athrun almost forgot that he had a childhood sweetheart named Lacus, as well as the naturally cuckolded Nicol, the white haired Yzak, and the blond haired Dearka whose looks were starting to fade.

Without Athrun around, Lacus's activities with her childhood friends gradually shrank to a small circle consisting only of the children of the Clyne faction.

As a precocious little pink girl, under Garfield's influence, she gradually grew into a seemingly pink person with a dark side.
