EXT. CITY BUS STOP – MORNING
Kelvin and Mira wait.
Close, but not touching.
Comfortable silence.
Kelvin hums softly.
MIRA OKAFOR
(smiling)
You're always singing.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
If I stop, my thoughts become louder.
She studies him.
Understanding.
INT. BUS – MOVING – DAY
They sit side by side.
A GIRL (early 20s, flashy, confident) stares at Kelvin.
Whispers to her friend.
Giggles.
Mira notices.
Kelvin doesn't.
GIRL
(loud enough)
That's Kelvin Adeyemi.
The singer.
Kelvin shifts uncomfortably.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
(to Mira, low)
This is what I meant.
MIRA OKAFOR
Let them talk.
They don't know your story.
Kelvin looks at her.
Relief mixed with fear.
EXT. MUSIC STUDIO – DAY
Kelvin arrives for rehearsal.
Mira waits outside.
As Kelvin enters—
A VOICE.
ELLA (O.S.)
Kelvin?
He freezes.
Turns.
ELLA DANIELS (beautiful, polished, expensive aura).
The kind of woman society applauds.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
(stunned)
Ella…
INT. MUSIC STUDIO – CONTINUOUS
Tension thick.
ELLA DANIELS
I heard you're finally serious with someone.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
People hear many things.
She smiles.
Calculated.
ELLA DANIELS
I didn't know you could move on so fast.
Kelvin breathes.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
I didn't move on fast.
I stayed stuck too long.
Ella's smile fades.
EXT. MUSIC STUDIO – SAME TIME
Mira watches from a distance.
Sees Ella.
Sees Kelvin.
Her heart tightens.
MIRA OKAFOR
(whispers)
So this is one of them…
INT. MUSIC STUDIO – LATER
Kelvin sings.
But his voice shakes.
🎵 SONG – "DON'T PULL ME BACK" 🎵
You left when I was kneeling
Now you knock while I stand
I forgive, but I won't follow
Don't pull me back again
Ella listens.
Face unreadable.
EXT. STUDIO PARKING LOT – EVENING
Kelvin exits.
Mira waits.
Silence.
MIRA OKAFOR
I saw her.
Kelvin nods.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
I didn't invite the past.
MIRA OKAFOR
The past never waits for permission.
Beat.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
Are you okay?
Mira forces a smile.
MIRA OKAFOR
I trust you.
I just don't trust history.
Kelvin exhales.
INT. KELVIN'S ROOM – NIGHT
Kelvin sits alone.
Phone buzzes.
MESSAGE FROM ELLA:
"We never really talked about us."
He stares.
Deletes it.
KELVIN (V.O.)
"Not every unfinished story deserves a sequel."
EXT. MIRA'S HOUSE – NIGHT
Kelvin walks Mira home.
Stops at the gate.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
If this gets hard—
MIRA OKAFOR
(interrupting)
—don't disappear.
He nods.
KELVIN ADEYEMI
I promise.
They share a quiet moment.
No kiss.
Just understanding.
INT. ELLA'S CAR – NIGHT
Ella sits alone.
Angry.
Dials a number.
ELLA DANIELS
I want Kelvin back in my life.
Whatever it takes.
She hangs up.
Smiles coldly.
INT. MIRA'S ROOM – NIGHT
Mira sits on her bed.
Holds an old photo of her and Kelvin from years ago.
Tears form.
MIRA OKAFOR
(soft)
Please don't let this be another waiting season.
