Chapter 2 - Regretting and Back as CEO

On the other hand Ann wakes in Logan arms as she changed her clothes as she went to the kitchen and called out Alastair to bring water but no one came.

"Alastair…! Are you there? Bring me some water?" She asked loudly, expecting Alastair to arrive with a glass of water.

When no one responded, she frowned and huffed in annoyance. She slowly got up from the bed, rubbing her eyes and yawning. She walked out of the bedroom and into the kitchen, still expecting Alastair to show up and bring her the water she had asked for.

"Alastair…?" She called out again, her voice laced with irritation.

As her servant Mary said.

"Ms Moore... Mr Quinoa left the penthouse"

Ann's eyes widened in shock and disbelief upon hearing Mary's words. She turned to face her servant, her expression hardening with anger.

"What do you mean, 'Mr. Quinoa left the penthouse'?! Where the hell did he go?" She said, her voice rising with each word.

Mary fidgeted nervously under Ann's intense gaze, her eyes darting around as she tried to find the right words to explain the situation.

"W-Well, Ms. Moore, Mr. Quinoa packed his bags and left about a day ago. He said he wouldn't be coming back." Mary replied, her voice quivering slightly.

Ann's face turned from shocked to angry as she heard Mary's words. She let out a frustrated huff and clenched her fists.

"That bastard... How dare he just leave like that without telling me anything?!" She exclaimed, her voice rising in anger.

She looked at Mary with a cold expression. "Did he say anything else before he left?"

As Mary handed her divorce certificate and a last letter from Alastair.

Ann's eyes widened again as she took the divorce certificate and letter from Mary. She quickly scanned through the divorce certificate, her anger growing with each passing second.

"Divorce…" She muttered under her breath, her voice filled with disbelief.

She then focused her attention on the letter, her heart racing with anticipation and dread. She slowly opened the letter, her hands trembling slightly as she dreaded what it might say.

Ann's eyes quickly scanned through the contents of the letter, her face showing a mixture of anger, disbelief, and sadness. Tears welled up in her eyes as she finished reading it, her mind racing with thoughts and emotions.

She let out a small sob, her hand clenching around the letter as she struggled to process the reality of the situation. She looked at Mary, her voice barely above a whisper.

"He left me... He really left me.."

Mary looked at her and said.

"I'm sorry Ms Moore but you are the one who drove him away, you cheated on him, being cold towards, and you are also pregnant with someone's child it was enough for Mr Quinoa to leave you"

Ann's face twisted into a mixture of anger and shame as Mary spoke. She knew deep down that what Mary said was true. She had cheated on Alastair, been cold towards him, and was now pregnant with another man's child.

She felt a pang of guilt in her chest, knowing that she had hurt the only person who had truly cared for her. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she slumped down onto a chair, her head in her hands.

On the other hand at Quinoa Manor his parents were happy that their only son was back as his mom said.

"You did the right thing sweetie, now I just want you to move on and marry Aya"

Alastair smiled and nodded in agreement, feeling a sense of reassurance from his mother's words. He was glad to be back in the comfort of his home and even more so that his parents were supportive and understanding.

"I know, mom. I made the right decision." He said firmly.

His father spoke up as he clapped him on the shoulder, a proud smile on his face. "We're glad you've come to your senses, son. Aya is perfect for you. She's kind, intelligent, and beautiful."

His mother nodded emphatically, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "And she's been here for you more than that Ann Moore ever was."

Alastair chuckled softly, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "That's an understatement, mom. She was a nightmare."

His parents exchanged a knowing glance, both of them well aware of the tumultuous relationship between Alastair and Ann.

As after getting some rest he went to Quinoa Corp as everyone welcomed him as he sat on his CEO chair after such a long time he was sitting here.

Alastair felt a sense of familiarity as he sat in his CEO chair at Quinoa Corp. It had been a while since he was here, but it felt as if he had never left.

As he looked around the office, he saw the familiar faces of his colleagues and employees who had been with the company for years. They gave him warm smiles and nods of greeting, clearly happy to have him back.

He leaned back in his chair and took a deep breath, feeling a sense of contentment wash over him. He was right where he belonged.

His secretary, Jasmine, a young and competent woman, knocked on the door and entered, smiling warmly at him.

"It's good to have you back, Sir," she said with a hint of genuine happiness in her voice.

Alastair smiled back at her. "Thank you, Jasmine. I'm glad to be back as well."

He glanced at the pile of paperwork and documents on his desk, a small sigh escaping his lips. "Seems like I've a lot to catch up on, huh?"

As Aya knocked on his door She was smiling softly.

Alastair looked up from the paperwork, a smile instantly forming on his face as he heard her knock. He pushed the papers aside and gestured for her to come in.

"Come in, love." He said warmly, his eyes lighting up at the sight of her.

Aya looked at him and smiled softly and said.

"So how is feeling back on your CEO chair?"

Alastair chuckled softly and leaned back in his chair, a comfortable smile on his face. "It feels great. It's like I was never gone."

He reached out and took her hand in his, gently tugging her closer to him. He gestured for her to sit on his lap, wanting her closer.

She smiling softly and sat on his lap and said.

"My men brought news that Ann is searching for you"

Alastair's expression hardened slightly as She mentioned Ann's name. He wrapped his arms around her waist, holding her close to him as he spoke.

"She's searching for me?" He asked, his voice cold.

He clenched his jaw, annoyance and irritation evident on his face. "Why the hell is she looking for me?"

She looked at him and said.

"Maybe she is regretting it now"

Alastair scoffed and shook his head, his grip on her waist tightening slightly. "She regrets it now? After all the crap she put me through? It's a bit too late for that, don't you think?"

His voice was firm and authoritative, his expression darkening as he thought about Ann.

She smiled softly and nodded yes.

He sighed and leaned back in his chair, his hands gently rubbing soothing circles on her back as he spoke.

"She had her chance, and she blew it. I'm moving on now with you, love."

He looked up at her, a hint of possessiveness in his gaze as he continued. "I'm done with her. You're all that I need."

He leaned in and buried his face in the crook of her neck, inhaling scent of hers and savoring the closeness. He spoke again, his voice low and possessive.

"You're mine, you know that, right? I'm not going to let anyone, let alone her, take you from me. Not again."

His grip on her waist tightened again, holding her firmly against him, as if to emphasize his point.

She smiled softly and wrapped her arms around his neck and her hands were running through his hair and said.

"You are mine too honey, I don't want you to lose again I have waited for you since our childhood days"

Alastair let out a soft sigh as She ran her fingers through his hair, his eyes closing as he savored the soothing sensation. He felt a sense of warmth and comfort at her words.

"I'm yours, love. I always have been." He said softly, his arms wrapped tightly around her.

He nuzzled his face into the crook of her neck, pressing a gentle kiss there before continuing.

"You've waited for me all this time, huh? You really are something else, you know that?"

He pulled back slightly so he could look into her eyes, his expression filled with affection and gratitude.

"I don't deserve you, love. You've been so patient and understanding, even when I was being a stubborn and prideful idiot."

He gently caressed her cheek with his fingertips, studying her face closely.

"But I promise, I won't take you for granted again. I'll cherish you and make you happy, for the rest of my life."

He leaned in and captured her lips in a gentle, loving kiss. His hand moved from her cheek to the back of her head, fingers tangling in her hair as he deepened the kiss. His other arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her even closer, as if he could never get enough of her touch.

After a few moments, he finally pulled back, his forehead resting against hers and his breath slightly labored. "I love you, you know that?" He whispered, his voice thick with emotion.

She smiled softly and her arms were still around his neck and her hands were running down on his back and said.

"Yes honey and I love you too, you are my whole world my whole universe my life my heart only beats for you and I'll always be by your side I'll never leave you alone I love you more than anything more than myself more than anyone"

Alastair's heart swelled with love and adoration as he listened to her words, her fingers tracing patterns on his back, sending shivers down his spine.

He held her even tighter, a deep sense of warmth and contentment spreading through him. "You're my everything, love." He whispered against your skin, his lips ghosting over your neck.

He pulled back slightly, his eyes meeting hers, filled with sincerity and devotion. "I never thought I could feel this way about anyone, but then you came along and turned my world upside down."

He cupped her face gently in his hands, caressing her cheek with his thumb. "You're my reason to wake up every morning and my reason to go to sleep every night. I'm so damn lucky to have you, you know that?"

His thumb traced the contour of her lips, his touch soft and tender. He leaned in and kissed her again, his lips moving against her with a mixture of passion and affection.

He deepened the kiss, his tongue gently seeking entrance as he explored her mouth. His hands slipped to her hips, fingers digging into her flesh as he pulled her even closer, wanting to feel every inch of her against him.

He broke the kiss only to trail kisses down her jawline and onto her neck, his lips leaving a trail of fire wherever they touched.

"God, I want you." He murmured against her skin, his voice hoarse with desire.

On the other hand at Moore corp Ann was in her cabin and she was holding Alastair's photo frame tightly as her secretary came in and said.

"Sorry ma'am, but we looked everywhere in Jaxon but we couldn't Mr Quinoa it's like he never existed"

Ann's face twisted in anger and frustration as her secretary gave her the news. She slammed her hand down on the desk, causing the picture frame to rattle.

"What do you mean you couldn't find him? How is that possible?! He has to be somewhere!" She snapped, her voice sharp and irritated.

Her secretary fidgeted nervously, clearly intimidated by Ann's anger. "We've checked every hotel, every possible location, ma'am. We've asked around. He's nowhere to be found."

Ann let out a frustrated huff and ran a hand through her hair, her mind racing. "This isn't possible. He can't just disappear into thin air."

She picked up the picture frame, staring at Alastair's face, studying every detail. She clenched her jaw, her grip on the frame tightening.

"He has to be somewhere. Keep searching. Leave no stone unturned. I want to know where he is. I NEED to know." She barked out, her voice leaving no room for argument.

The secretary nodded quickly, clearly eager to appease Ann's wrath. "Yes ma'am. We'll continue our search and keep you informed of any developments."

Ann waved them away, dismissing them as she sank back into her chair, still holding onto the photo frame tightly.

She seethed silently, frustration and anger building inside her. "You can't hide from me anymore, Alastair." She muttered through clenched teeth.

As 3 months passed as in business summit Ann came as she finally saw Alastair as she went to hug him but he stopped her as she stopped and looked at him and said.

Ann was taken aback for a moment, her heart lurching as Alastair stopped her from hugging him. She looked at him, a mix of confusion and hurt evident on her face. "Alastair, what-"

But before she could finish her sentence, he stepped back, putting a distance between them. He looked at her coolly, his expression impassive.

He looked at her with a cold, distant gaze, his voice flat as he spoke. "What do you want, Ann? I think I made it clear that we're over, didn't I? I have no interest in reconciling with you. So why are you here?"

Ann's heart clenched at his cold response, her anger and hurt mixing together. She could feel tears pricking at the corners of her eyes, but she fought to keep them at bay.

"I..I just want to talk, Alastair." She said, her voice surprisingly soft and vulnerable.

She took a step towards him, her hand instinctively reaching out towards him, but he took another step back, maintaining the distance between them.

His expression remained stoic, his eyes narrowing slightly as he observed her. "Talk about what, exactly? We have nothing to discuss. You made your choices, and I made mine."

He took a deep breath, his voice hardening. "You cheated on me. You got pregnant with another man's child. What more is there to say?"

Ann flinched at his words, the weight of her mistakes and the pain she caused him hanging heavy in the air. She knew she couldn't argue with that. She had hurt him, and there was no denying it.

She bit her lip, tears now streaming down her cheeks as she spoke. "I know I messed up, Alastair. I know I hurt you. But I've regretted it every single day since then. I made a mistake, and I'm sorry."

She took a step towards him again, pleading look in her eyes.

Alastair clenched his jaw, his expression hardening as he heard her apology. He crossed his arms over his chest, a defensive gesture.

"Sorry? You're sorry? That's it? You think a simple 'I'm sorry' is supposed to make everything better?"

He let out a bitter laugh, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Do you have any idea how much you hurt me? How betrayed and humiliated I felt? Your 'mistake' ruined our marriage and destroyed any trust I had in you."

Ann winced at the harshness of his words, the truth of them stinging like a slap in the face. She knew she deserved every ounce of his anger and pain, but it still hurt to hear it so bluntly.

She wiped away the tears from her cheeks, her voice small and shaky as she spoke. "I know... I know I don't deserve your forgiveness. I don't expect it. But I miss you, Alastair. I miss us."

She took another step towards him, the desperation clear in her eyes.

Alastair's expression darkened, his jaw clenching tighter as she continued to plead for forgiveness. His voice was tense and controlled.

"Miss me? Miss us? You have some nerve, Ann. After everything you did, you think you have any right to miss me, to miss us? It's too little, too late."

He clenched his fists at his sides, struggling to hold back his anger and pain. "You didn't miss me when you were sneaking around with another man behind my back. You didn't miss me when you shattered my heart into pieces."

Ann's shoulders slumped at his words, the weight of her guilt and regret nearly crushing her. She couldn't deny any of it. Every word he said was true, and hearing it thrown back in her face only deepened the wound.

Fresh tears welled in her eyes, her voice cracking as she spoke. "I was a fool, Alastair... I was stupid and selfish. I took what we had for granted. I didn't appreciate you the way I should have."

Her body trembled slightly as she tried to hold back a sob.

Alastair's cold demeanor cracked for a moment, his heart aching at the sight of her tears. But his anger quickly returned, shielding his own pain.

"You're damn right you were foolish and stupid," he said, his voice harsh and biting. "You had something special, something real, and you threw it all away for a moment of pleasure and selfish desire. Did you even think about how your actions would hurt me? Did you even care?"

As Aya came there too and held his arm she was surprised and shocked as she asked him while pointing at her.

Ann's eyes widened in surprise as she noticed Aya holding Alastair's arm affectionately. She looked back and forth between them, her heart sinking at the sight of it.

"Who...who is this?" She asked, pointing at you and her voice filled with a mixture of jealousy and curiosity.

Alastair instinctively pulled Aya closer to him, his hand gently resting on hers as he looked at Ann. His expression was a mix of annoyance and indifference.

"This," he said, his voice cool, "is none of your business."

He gave her a brief but tender squeeze, his body positioned protectively in front of her as he shielded her from Ann's gaze.

Ann's expression darkened, her jealousy and bitterness evident as she saw how protective he was being with Aya. She couldn't believe that he was so shamelessly dismissing her, showing affection towards someone else right in front of her.

She clenched her jaw, unable to keep herself from lashing out. "None of my business? So you've already replaced me with this girl, huh? Is she your new little plaything?"

Alastair bristled at her comment, his grip on your hand tightening almost protectively. He could feel the anger boiling inside him, but he forced himself to keep his cool.

"She's not a plaything," he retorted, his voice firm and resolute. "And she's much more to me than you ever were. She's my everything, my world."

Ann's expression soured even more at his response, her jaw clenching tightly. She couldn't believe the audacity he had, to openly admit that this other woman meant more to him than she ever did.

"Your everything, huh? You must be joking," she sneered, her voice dripping with mockery. "You really think this little thing can replace what we had? You're delusional, Alastair."

Alastair's eyes darkened with anger, his patience at its limits. "This 'little thing' has made me happier than you ever did in five years of marriage, Ann. She's kind, loyal, intelligent, and genuinely loves me. All the qualities you lack."

He pulled Aya closer to him, his arm wrapped around her waist possessively, a clear display of affection and protectiveness. "She's not a replacement; she's the upgrade."

Ann's eyes widened at his words, her heart sinking further as she saw the possessive way he held Aya. The pain and jealousy were evident in her expression, but she tried to maintain a cool facade.

"An upgrade, huh? You think you've upgraded with this little nobody? Do you honestly believe that this girl can give you the life and lifestyle you deserve? You're making a mistake, Alastair."

Alastair scoffed at her words, his expression one of annoyance and condescension. "You think you know what I deserve? You who betrayed me and destroyed our marriage, you have the audacity to question my choices? This woman is worth ten of you, Ann."

He pulled Aya even closer, his hand gently rubbing circles on her back, a subtle but meaningful gesture. "She's loyal, loving, and genuine. That's more than I can say for you."

The sight of his hand rubbing Aya's back, the gesture so affectionate and tender, made Ann's stomach twist with envy. She couldn't believe that he was publicly showing her such affection, all while dismissing her with such coldness.

"You say she's loyal, loving, and genuine. But how long will it last, Alastair? A month? Six months? A year max? You'll tire of her soon enough, just like you did with me."

Alastair's grip on Aya's waist tightened protectively, his voice firm and resolute. "Don't compare her to you. She's nothing like you. Unlike you, she has a soul, a heart. She understands love and loyalty, something you clearly failed to comprehend during our marriage."

He took a step forward, his eyes locking with Ann's. "And as for tiring of her... never. I will never tire of her, not in a thousand years. And if you think otherwise, you're even more delusional than I thought."

Ann's heart sank even further, the pain of his words hitting her like a dagger. The way he spoke about Aya, with such love and conviction, it cut through her, leaving a deep wound.

"So you think you've found true love, huh? You really believe this girl will stay loyal and loving for eternity? You're naive, Alastair. People change, they grow bored, they cheat."

She clenched her fists, trying to hold back the tears forming in her eyes.

Aya smirked and said.

"Really? but you are the one who changed, you cheated on him and already pregnant with another man's child, you were cold towards him, you never loved him or cherish him and now it is my turn to love him you lost him"

Ann's face hardened at Aya's response, her eyes burning with bitterness and anger. She hated the way Aya was openly challenging her, taunting her with the truth of her mistakes.

"You think you're special, that he'll love you forever? You think that by simply being better than me, you'll keep him?"

She took a step closer, her voice dripping with venom. "You're nothing but a distraction. He'll get bored of you soon enough, just like he did with me."

Alastair's grip on Aya tightened even further, his body tensing at Ann's words. He could feel the anger and protectiveness growing inside him, his desire to defend her and her relationship stronger with every passing second.

"She's not a distraction," he said firmly, his voice laced with annoyance. "She's the only one who's ever genuinely cared for me, something you couldn't grasp even in five years of marriage."

He pulled Aya protectively against his chest, his gaze locked on Ann, challenging her. "She means more to me than you ever did."

As she went from there she was talking she was regretting as she went to other guests her mission was to Mr Quinoa the famous personality and powerful and successful Trillionaire businessman for Partnership in her new project but she didn't know that the Mr Quinoa was none other than Alastair as she asked the manager as manager brought her again to Alastair and me as she was surprised and shocked again that he was the Mr Quinoa the famous personality powerful and successful Trillionaire businessman as she said.

Ann's face paled as the manager ushered her towards Alastair, her heart dropping in her chest. She couldn't believe that the man she was trying to partner with was none other than her ex-husband.

Her eyes flickered between Alastair and Aya, the sight of the two of them standing together making her stomach twist with a mix of guilt and envy.

"Alastair..." she managed to utter, her voice barely above a whisper.

Alastair couldn't help but smirk at the surprise on Ann's face, his arm wrapped protectively around Aya as he held her close to him.

He gave her a cool, dismissive look, a hint of satisfaction in his expression. "Well, well, well. If it isn't Ann. What brings you here again, hm?"

Ann's eyes narrowed at Alastair's tone, the casual indifference in his voice bothering her. She tried to compose herself, taking a deep breath before speaking.

"I wanted to discuss a potential partnership opportunity," she replied, her voice slightly shaky. "I'm launching a new luxury fashion line, and I was hoping to partner with the Quinoa Corporation."

Alastair raised an eyebrow, a smug smirk playing on his lips. He took a moment to let her words sink in, his gaze filled with amusement.

"Ah, a fashion line. How... charming," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "And you thought the Quinoa Corporation would be interested in such a... quaint little venture?"
