Everyone stared at Riven in shock,wife?, didn't he say girlfriend?, when did he get married?
"Wife, really?"Anna asked with a frown eying Roxanne from head to toe.
"Yes"Riven simply replied.
"When did you get married?"Grandpa Ru asked staring at him intently.
"That's my business not yours"
"Roxanne dear,is he forcing u to do this?"Grandpa Ru asked turning his gaze to Roxanne.
"Not at all Grandfather"she replied with a smile on her face.
But he wasn't satisfied,he knew his grandson very well and there is no way he'd get close to a lady without a reason or a hidden motive.
Anastasia glared daggars at Roxanne. If looks could kill, she'd be dead by now and it didn't go unnoticed by Roxanne who felt goosebumps on her skin.
'cough, cough'
"Grandfather, have you been taking your meds?"Roxanne asked noticing the Change in the atmosphere.
"Yes I have, who knew I was going to have you as my granddaughter in law, I had already planned to kidnap your boyfriend and threaten him if I saw him"Grandpa Ru said with a small smile.
Roxanne giggled and shook her head.
"That's ridiculous"she said and chuckled and so did he.
"Are you my new sister in law?"Belle asked looking at Roxanne.
"Umm... I guess I am,nice to meet you"Roxanne replied sweetly.
"I like robots"
"Have you seen the latest model?,it shoots lazers from its eyes?"Roxanne asked and Belle smiled.
"I like u already, let's go play"she said and pulled Roxanne with her to her room.
As they left, Anna turned to Riven with a deep frown.
"U can't be serious about being married to her?"
"Do I look like a joker?"
"Of all classy girls u could choose from,u chose her?, were you that desperate not to marry Molly?"Anna asked.
"And what is wrong with my choice?"
"Nothing,u picked right and I'm proud of u"Grandpa Ru replied with a smile on his wrinkled face.
"Alright,we can talk about this later,we have guests to attend to"Dave said and walked away going to welcome the guests.
"We'll continue this conversation later"Anna said and walked away with Anastasia.
"For the first time in your life you made a good choice and I hope you can maintain it, she's a rare gem'"Grandpa Ru said and went to meet his friends.
"Rare gem?"
Meanwhile,
In Belle's room,she showed Roxanne her robot collection.
"I made this in fifth grade and grandpa got me this one for my Eighth Birthday"she said pointing to each of them.
"They're so cool, I only have five at home and they're either a gift or I made them"Roxanne said sitting on the bed.
"Why did you marry my brother?"Belle asked sitting besides her.
"To be honest, he's not a likable person but it just happened"
"Are you inlove with him?"
"That's far stretched but yh, we're so in love"she replied lying through her teeth.
"Have you guys kissed?"
"Lots of times, even before when we arrived in the car"
"U did?"

She asked herself and then smiled nodding in approval.
"Wow, how did his lips taste like?"
*Dear God,what kind of question is that?*
Roxanne blinked unable to reply and then her phone rang.
"Excuse me, I have to take this"she said and got into the restroom to answer the phone.
"Hello?"
:"Bestie!"
A cheerful voice sounded on the other line.
"Wassup Cassie"
:"Nothing much just that I'm on my way back to the country, I can't wait to see you and Dennis, I hope you two didn't arrange your wedding without me?"
Cassie asked enthusiastically.
Hearing the name Dennis, Roxanne clutched her phone as memories of that night played in her head.
:"Hello?,Roxy,are you there?"
"Oh sorry, I zoned out for a bit,u were saying?"
:"I'll be back by tomorrow and we can catch up"
"That's nice, I can't wait"
:"Me neither"
"See ya"
With that she hung up and sniffed remembering the good times she had with Dennis, all gone in a single night,the most eventful night of her life.
She was still lost in thought until a knock on the bathroom door brought her back to reality.
"Hey, I wanna pee"Belle's voice came from the other side.
She opened the door and smiled
"My bad, sorry"

The party ended and the family came together to eat dinner.
The dinner table was filled with silence, suffocating silence.
"So Roxanne, how long have you known Riven?"Anna asked breaking the silence.
"Ummm....well–"
"Four months"Riven replied
"That's nice but I was talking to Roxanne"Anna said looking at Riven who didn't spare her a glance.
"Where did you meet?"Dave asked
"Park"
"Cinema"
Both replied at the same time and then looked at each other.
"What we mean is that,we met at the Cinema and then went to the park"Roxanne said trying not to get caught in the lie.
"That's nice"Dave said taking a spoonful of his food.
"So Roxanne, what do you do for a living,how many companies do you have?"Anastasia asked who was suprisingly sitted with them for reasons best known to her.
"Well I work part-time at a retirement home during the week and at a restaurant for the weekends"she replied honestly.
Anastasia burst into mocking laughter while Anna seethed with rage.
"Such people don't deserve to come near the Sy family non less get married to one of them,u look like a lady,but you're obviously a tout in rich clothing"Anna said harshly.
Roxanne felt deeply hurt by what she said and bit her buttom lip to hold back her tears that threatened to spill.
"Wait, didn't u win the international robotics competition ten years ago?"Belle asked causing everyone's gaze to turn to Roxanne.
"Y..yes "she replied
"You're the one?,my daughter couldn't stop talking about u,why didn't you accept the sponsorship?"Dave asked fascinated.
"I couldn't leave my dad alone and used the prize money to pay for his treatment. My mom squandered the remains and threw away my trophies, said I was wasting my time, it's a talent for men"she replied sadly.
"Enough sob story, you're obviously doing that to gain sympathy"Anastasia said.
"Exactly,get out, you're not welcomed here!"
Anna said standing up and grabbed Roxanne's hand ready to pull her up.
