Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: How to Prevent the Terminator T-1000 from Transforming?

Chapter 27: How to Prevent the Terminator T-1000 from Transforming?

The Terminator T-1000 is indeed difficult to deal with, but Marcus has once again gained the upper hand and found the right method. With liquid nitrogen, dealing with the Terminator T-1000 isn't much more difficult than dealing with the Terminator T-800.

The real problem is the Terminator T-1000's transformation ability!

Because the Terminator T-1000 is a liquid metal machine, its transformation ability is extremely powerful.

For example, the Terminator T-1000 can look at Marcus and transform into him, perfectly mimicking his facial features, clothing, and even voice.

Unless someone is very familiar with Marcus, it's generally impossible to tell the difference between Marcus and the Terminator T-1000.

This situation is quite troublesome.

When tracking the Terminator T-1000, what if it suddenly transforms into Marcus, or another FBI agent from Los Angeles?

Perhaps in the Terminator 2 movie, the Terminator T-1000 seems limited, mostly appearing as a police officer and relentlessly pursuing the reprogrammed T-800 and John Connor.

But who can guarantee that in the Terminator universe, the Terminator T-1000 will continue to maintain a police officer image?

The Terminator T-1000's transformation ability should be unlimited.

In the Terminator 2 movie, the Terminator T-1000 transformed into multiple forms, and considering the characteristics of liquid metal machines, it's impossible for it to have limitations.

Therefore, Marcus prepared for the Terminator T-1000 to have unlimited transformation capabilities!

In any case, it's always good to be prepared.

"Your concerns are indeed necessary," Marcus responded to Stevens. "I've thought of two ways to prevent this situation."

Stevens looked at Marcus, waiting for him to continue.

"The first method is to use K-9 units. I believe you've already discovered that dogs are particularly sensitive to Terminators, and they will alert immediately once they detect one," Marcus explained.

Stevens nodded. "We do know that. We've researched it; it's probably because the Terminator's tissue covering is different from the human body, which is why the dogs are so sensitive."

Stevens continued, "The Terminator T-1000 is a liquid metal machine. Without the tissue layer, are you sure the dogs could detect the problem?"

Marcus nodded affirmatively. "This has been proven in the future!"

"That's good," Stevens breathed a sigh of relief. "What's the second method?"

"We can learn from the military's method. Every day when on field operations, each team has a different password. The password's content can only be known to the corresponding team member, except for the operations center." Marcus explained the situation.

"When team members are operating together, if a member leaves the team's line of sight, when that member returns, the password must be checked. Until the password is verified, the other team members should remain highly vigilant," Marcus added.

Stevens nodded repeatedly, "That's a good idea!"

"For now, these are the two simplest methods. Although we could use metal detectors, they're too bulky and too obvious. The Terminator T-1000 isn't as limited as the Terminator T-800," Marcus explained.

"Is the Terminator T-1000 very intelligent?" Stevens asked.

Marcus nodded affirmatively, "Very intelligent! The Terminator T-800's intelligence is roughly equivalent to a young child, while the Terminator T-1000's intelligence is at least that of a teenager or older."

Stevens looked tense, "Then our fake address setup shouldn't be effective, right?"

According to the original plot, the Terminator T-1000 impersonated a police officer to investigate John Connor within the police system, indicating that the Terminator T-1000's cognitive ability was quite impressive, at least knowing how to leverage external resources.

When Terminator T-1000 arrived at John Connor's foster home, he even knew to deceive, demonstrating that his intelligence far surpasses that of Terminator T-800.

"That's troublesome!" Stevens replied. "Oh, and there's one more thing to be careful about. When Terminator T-1000 arrives, the future human resistance will also send rescue personnel. This time, the rescuer seems to be a Terminator T-800 that's been reprogrammed by the human resistance. If we encounter it, we should try to preserve it."

"Um... how do we tell?" Stevens asked.

A Terminator T-800 reprogrammed by the human resistance can't exactly have 'I'm a friendly Terminator' written on its forehead, can it?

Marcus responded, "Just ask directly. Skynet is progressing very quickly, and the new Terminator models are significantly more intelligent."

Stevens nodded thoughtfully, "No wonder I feel the Terminator T-800 is getting more and more capable, especially this year's models; they've learned tactical maneuvers."

A sense of unease crept into Marcus's heart. The Terminator world had completely deviated from the original story, and he wasn't sure how it would develop.

Now, Marcus could only try to grasp as much "authority" as possible to face the unpredictable future.

Time passed day by day.

The countermeasures discussed by Marcus and Stevens were being implemented at the FBI's Los Angeles field office.

Initially, the FBI's Los Angeles agents didn't understand the elaborate password system and even resisted it to some extent. However, after a month, the field agents had become accustomed to it and even took pride in it.

Meanwhile, within a little over a month, all the FBI's Los Angeles field teams were equipped with K-9 units, making it easier to identify Terminators.

Terminator World, April 19, 1995, evening.

Marcus was at Kyle and Sarah's house, playing with John Connor, a five-year-old boy whose fate was completely different from the original storyline.

Sarah hadn't been arrested, and John had a happy childhood.

"Little John, how old are you this year?" Marcus asked.

John replied, "Five years old."

"What are your dreams?" Marcus asked casually.

"Save the world, save all of humanity!" Little John said in his childish voice, proclaiming his lofty ideal.

Marcus paused, then looked at Kyle and Sarah.

Kyle awkwardly scratched his head. Although Marcus said he didn't blame him, Kyle still felt guilty for betraying Marcus's trust, after all, he had promised Marcus, but ended up with Sarah.

Sarah responded confidently, "If my son is the future leader of humanity, I will raise him properly from a young age!"

Marcus nodded indifferently.

Kyle coughed and called out, "Little John, you and your mother go to the kitchen and see when we can eat."

Sarah understood what Kyle meant; Kyle must have something to discuss with Marcus. She picked up John and said, "Shall we go see the roast turkey? Little John likes roast turkey, right?"

Little John cheered, "Of course, I like roast turkey!"

After the two left, Marcus asked, "Is something wrong?"

"Is it because Sarah and I are together that the future hasn't changed?" Kyle asked with some self-reproach.
