Val stared at the kid looking back at him with so much hurt in his eyes. When he asked him the question, he just couldn't muster enough courage to say anything.
Even if he knew nothing about this person, it was obvious that this Cerrius person was quite important to him. Maybe a best friend? A brother? Or even a coping mechanism in this terrible place.
He had no idea what their relationship was, but he knew exactly what it felt like to lose either one of those persons from one's life.
Whether it was a friend, a best friend, a relative, parents, or a lover, he had lost them all.
So he knew how he felt.
"You d-didn't lose your memory, did you?"
The boy asked him with tears in his eyes. "Do you remember me? My name?" He asked again, pulling Val this time, but he just kept staring at the boy without saying anything.
Maybe it was better not to answer. But how was he going to get the answers he wanted if he stayed quiet?
How was he supposed to understand this world?
