Chapter 40 - A Good Morning

Gentle rays of sunlight filtered in through the cracks of the thick, dark curtains. Hermione groaned and rolled over onto her side and snuggled up against the warm chest of her husband.

An arm automatically wrapped around her waist and pulled her closer. Her face rested against his neck, and she breathed in his scent; ink, parchment, and a hint of musk. She laid her arm on his bare chest, splating her palm on his lean and firm chest. She pressed a chaste kiss on the neck, still half-asleep.

The body moved beneath her, and a groan escaped from her husband's lips. "Morning, love," Draco mumbled sleepily, placing a kiss to the crown of her head. His arm tightened around her, keeping her body pressed flush against his.

"Morning," Hermione smiled as she reluctantly sat up, stretching languidly. She could feel her husband's eyes on her, trailing slowly up her lightly-clothed body. Before she could utter a sarcastic remark, large hands grabbed her by the hips and shifted her until she was straddling Draco's waist. Her lips curled just a fraction, and she leaned down, stopping just a hair's breath away from his lips.

His silver-gray eyes flashed before darkening. A low growl came from deep in his throat as a hand left her hip and grabbed the back of her neck, slowly pushing her closer. She smirked before obliging his silent command.

Hermione's met his lips in a soft and languid kiss that was as passionate as it was slow. Her hands roamed up his perfectly toned abdomen, brushing over his hardened nipples. Draco's chest rumbled as another growl surfaced from him, drawing a heat from deep within her. His tongue darted out to demand entry.

"Mom!" The cry sounded from outside their closed bedroom door drawing a groan from both Hermione and Draco.

"Maybe tomorrow," Draco mumbled underneath his breath, and Hermione agreed. It had become interesting and a little difficult for the two to find time for themselves in between work, friends and family, and their three beautiful children. Draco leaned up and brushed a quick kiss to her lips. "Good morning."

Hermione slid to the side, off of Draco, and stood up. "Hopefully, tomorrow will be even better," her teasing smirk and an exaggerated swing of her hips drew a hiss from her husband. She then turned her face toward the closed door, a soft smile that made her face shone graced her lips. "Just a minute, Darling!"

She then made her way to the wardrobe, where she quickly changed. Draco was sitting up in bed, sliding on a pair of pants that had been within reach over his boxers.

Hermione reached the bedroom door and opened it to find their two eldest children standing there. "Mommy!" Two pairs of arms reached out for a hug and a morning kiss.

"Where's mine?" pouted Draco as he came up behind Hermione.

As if on cue, their youngest came running around the corner while clinging tightly onto his teddy bear. "Daddy!"

Draco leaned down to capture their young son in his arms and spun him around.

"Me next! Me next!" Shouted the girls, growing jealous as they heard their brother's speel of laughter as he smiled brightly.

Hermione leaned up from where she had been crouching in front of the girls. She pressed a chaste kiss onto the cheeks of her son and husband. "I'll go prepare breakfast."
