Dele slowly opened eyes after some time. His whole body ached, particularly his head. He felt like a million things were going on in his head at the same time, he had to stay still for a couple minutes before his mind was able to settle down. Looking around, there were piles of clothes scattered around with some wooden stakes leaning against the wall.
" where am I?", Dele mumbled to himself while trying to get up from where he laid.
" is this how purgatory is supposed to look like?"
Dele got up from the little bed he was sleeping on while checking out the room he's in.
" I don't think I'm in purgatory.But I clearly remembered that I died at the hands of that warrior….."
Before he could finish recollecting his thoughts he was suddenly attacked with a wave of pain in his head. It felt like memories and information of someone else was emerging in his mind suddenly as if he was the one living it till now.
" Dele….., the owner of this body is also called Dele?"
He kept muttering to himself while holding onto his head.
Half an hour later...
After the pain has subsided he was able to gather the memories of the owner of this body little by little.
"The owner of this body name is Oyedele while mine is Oladele(1), what are the odds".
Dele said while looking at the clothes on him. From the memories, he was able to discover that this world was not the same as the one he came from. Firstly, although there are people like him In this world, there are also other people with various kind of skin color and weird names living together in this world. Also there are people who are gifted with various abilities and flying magical creatures are a norm. The basis of the abilities used in this world sound extremely similar to the gods worship by his people in his previous life. For instance, people in this world have abilities to control elements like fire, water, forest, earth and other sub elements. There are many who also awaken other abilities like seer, shape shifting, art of healing and various magical powers. There are also some who didn't awaken any magical abilities but trained themselves in the warriors path like the weapon masters, knights, fist lords and others. All these seem difficult to take in at once if a person was told, but since the previous owner of this body has been living this life since he was born it was a little easier for him to accept. It felt weird at the same time normal.
"The previous owner of this body seems to be gifted with the ability to control fire, just like sango in my previous world, but his talent is only mediocre Amongst his peers".
Dele thought within himself, in his previous life he has been a coward and powerless person. Coincidentally the owner of this body is also a lazy person who prefers resting to hard-work. Has he has been given a new chance at life he will surely made good use of it. He's going to work hard to pursue standing at the top of his food chain.
Dele was about to step out of the room he's in when a thought suddenly struck him.
" Wait a minute, what if all the gods and goddesses told in history all came from this magical world?. But if that's true, they should have mentioned this place to one of their descendants at least."
Dele shook his head lightly and got rid of his thoughts
" let's find out what kind of place this world really is then, maybe one day I might discover something that would explain the connection by then" Just as he was about to open the door, the door opened automatically and behind the door was a sweet little girl face staring at him angrily
" Don't tell me you were just waking up?". The girl asked while coming into the room uninvited
The girl is called Tomi according to Dele's memories. She is his childhood friend since they both came from the same hometown. Presently they are both studying in the only academy in the capital city of Katarr, their country.
They were supposed to be in training grounds earlier that morning for special training since the mid-year exams are coming up and Dele has not been performing well in his ability training, so the teacher has asked Tomi to give him extra lessons so he could keep up but Dele didn't come for the training, even going as far as skipping morning class. So Tomi decided to come and check up on him only to discover that he woke up late.
"What's wrong?", she asked while turning to face him. While she was angry, she was also concerned about him.
"It's nothing much, I just woke up feeling dizzy this morning that's all ", Dele replied here while grabbing his academy uniform to get ready for afternoon classes.
"Humph, you are just lazy. what dizziness ", Tomi replied while walking past him and heading for the door.
This is not the first time this friend of hers has lied to skip training, she isn't buying it anymore.He was once claimed to have seen his dead mother in his dream just to avoid class.
" meet me outside in five minutes, the teacher says she has a special announcement to make " Tomi said as she was closing the door behind her
" Alright, it's time to see this new world ", Dele said while opening the door, not bothering arguing with him on what is true or not.
