Chapter 1 - 1

"Your divorce papers are ready…now all your assets are in your ex-wife's hands."

I still couldn't believe it when I saw the divorce papers before my eyes.

Ten years of dating, ten years of marriage, all destroyed just like that.

My house and car, which I had saved up for since college until I started working, were now taken by my ex-wife.

I was even fired from my company because I was accused of domestic violence.

Yet, my ex-wife was the one who started the affair with her boss at work.

Even my daughter, whom I had raised since she was a child, had been hypnotized into believing that I was a bad man and that the new man my ex-wife had chosen was the best replacement.

"Go away, Ethan. We will never see you again in our lives."

"I don't want to call you dad again!"

They were gone, my ex-wife and my daughter, into the arms of a new man who had more money than they had since birth.

It was completely unfair. Why is my life so unlucky, that all my hard work and patience over the past twenty years have ended in vain and meaningless?

I walked unsteadily along the roadside, in the middle of the quiet night, crossing the street, until finally I sat down on a lonely bench.

I read a yellowed and weathered book, a legacy from my parents that I hadn't opened since I got married.

When I opened it, I found much of the writing in it was incomprehensible, but there was one sentence that read something like this: 'Time to rise, Baron Lucien Storm...'

A second later, the book suddenly emitted a light, blinding me.

It felt like I was being pulled, taken somewhere I didn't know.

Then everything went completely black.

Am I dead?

Ah, good, my life was ruined anyway.

I guess this kind of ending is much more comforting for me.

"Don't hurt Baron Lucien!"

"Move aside, you whore!"

Damn it.

Why is there the sound of people fighting?

It seemed I wasn't completely dead yet.

Although it was hard, I forced my eyes open and saw the person fighting, a muscular man in armor, pulling the hair off a mature woman with long, brown hair and a sexy figure with a bruise on her cheek.

The woman was dressed in a classic maid outfit, reminiscent of the medieval era, something I rarely saw except at cosplay events.

Was I at a cosplay event?

No, it seemed I was in a time of the past, not the modern era.

Without much thought, I knew the armored man was torturing the poor adult woman.

There were more than three of them, but they surrounded the woman, who was in pain and confusion, like a group of losers.

"Go away! Please! Have mercy on Baron Lucien! He's been ill for the past ten years!" the mature woman pleaded, holding me, as I realized I was lying on a bed.

"Stupid whore…! You've spent the last ten years looking after a young man who can't even take shit on his own! He'd be better off dead and leaving the land of Storm to us! There's no one capable of managing it!" the armored man exclaimed arrogantly.

"No! I believe Baron Lucien will recover!"

"What a fool! I'll destroy you and your entire sexy body until you regret it for the rest of your life!"

"Go away!"

CLANG!

I froze in shock as a nearly transparent shield suddenly appeared, yet so strong it blocked the armored man's sword that nearly beheaded me.

The shield appeared like magic from the hands of the woman dressed as a maid.

"You called this a barrier magic?! How weak, Althea…!"

CRACK!

The magical shield shattered instantly, completely cut down by those damn armored men.

They immediately pulled the poor maid's body away, staring at her with lustful gazes.

"Hahahaha! You're finished, Althea! We'll work on your entire body until you die of exhaustion!"

Damn it.

Hearing such lewd calls, coupled with the soft cries of that woman named Althea, made my heart burn with rage.

I realized that my marriage had been ruined by my ex-wife, that damn woman who never appreciated my hard work.

But when I heard Althea taking care of me for almost ten years—even though I still don't understand why I'm called Baron Lucien—I couldn't stay silent.

My principle is that a man must protect the woman who is loyal to him, and that's a matter of life and death!

I got up, despite my frail body.

It felt like something was gathering in my chest, and I immediately let it all out with a burst of anger by shouting so loud that cracking the floor and break the windows.

And at that very moment, a strong gust of wind, accompanied by a shrieking sound, sent the three armored men flying far away, crashing into the thick stone wall at the end of the room.

They immediately fell unconscious, their eyes bulging and their ears bleeding, likely dying from the intense shock of my attack.

Luckily, Althea was unaffected by my shout and wind attacks.

She woke up with her mouth open, then smiled gratefully when she saw me standing right in front of her.

"Baron Lucien! You're back!"

Althea hugged me tightly, her ample breasts filling my face.

The warmth I'd longed for from a woman.

Coupled with the fresh, feminine scent of her still-ripe body and the sexy tone of her voice, it all managed to arouse my desire.

I didn't care where I was, or who I was, but if I was greeted by a beautiful and sexy woman like Althea like this, I was ready to face my new life as Baron Lucien.
