Chapter 28 - Chapter 28 — Ghost-Level Disaster: The Deep Sea King

Off the coast near New York.

The ocean surface was unnaturally calm—like polished glass, without a single ripple.

Then, without warning, thousands of fish burst out of the water at once, fleeing in terror from something far worse beneath.

Moments later, hundreds of thousands of humanoid marine creatures crawled out from the deep sea and began advancing toward the mainland.

At their head walked a towering sea-being crowned like royalty, muscles coiled with brutal strength, a crimson cloak draped across his back, radiating lethal intent.

Ghost-Level Disaster — The Deep Sea King.

"Disgusting humans," the Deep Sea King growled. "For centuries, you have polluted the oceans."

"You have forgotten who truly owns this planet."

"My warriors—follow me! Cleanse these vermin from the land!"

"This world belongs to the Deep Sea Race!"

Under the influence of Monster Cells, countless sea creatures twisted into Monsters, gaining strength far beyond human limits—more than enough to slaughter ordinary civilians with ease.

From the womb of the ocean, the first banner of human extinction was raised.

"Roar, O Sea!"

The ocean responded.

A violent surge formed waves over ten meters tall, slamming into the coastline with devastating force.

To humans, these waves were deadly.

To the Deep Sea Race, they were a stimulant—amplifying their combat power even further.

Led by the Deep Sea King, the horde flooded onto land and began a massacre.

Even in a gun-friendly nation, resistance was meaningless.

Against even the weakest Wolf-level Monsters, firearms required precise lethal shots. Most civilians didn't even get time to aim before their hearts were pierced or their skulls crushed.

The invasion began at the borders of New York.

Today was supposed to be a historic day for the United States.

Every television screen across the nation broadcast the same shocking news:

A hero missing for seventy years—long presumed dead—had returned.

Dressed in red, white, and blue.Holding a vibranium shield. With the iconic build and unmistakable presence known to every American child.

Captain America had returned.

Posters flooded the streets.Slogans filled the air.It felt like the last century had come back to life.

"Isn't that the guy from the World War II memorial museum?"

"You mean Captain America? It really looks like him!"

"Impossible. He's been dead for seventy years!"

Standing on the stage, microphone in hand, Captain America cleared his throat.

Following the script provided by S.H.I.E.L.D., he delivered his lines with practiced ease.He had done this before—selling war bonds across the country.

"Hello, everyone. I am Captain America."

"Yes. The same one who disappeared seventy years ago."

"I slept beneath the Arctic ice… and now I've returned."

"And I will protect you from these Monsters."

In the age of the internet, the news spread like wildfire.

Within minutes, nearly the entire country knew.

Captain America's reputation had not faded with time.

Textbooks. Museums. Government propaganda. A perfect hero's legend—from weak to strong, to noble sacrifice.

Seventy years of peace had elevated his legend to its peak.

And so, a nationwide wave began.

Elderly veterans rolled into the streets in wheelchairs.Retired soldiers followed.Teachers, students, civilians—

Millions gathered to celebrate his return.

Inside Hero League Headquarters.

Mash Shieldheart looked at the broadcast with concern.

"Chairman, should we do something about this?"

Beside her, Stella Nightfall cautiously formed a dark energy sphere in her palm.

"There are so many people gathered… do they need to be eliminated?"

In the past, the ones chasing her had only been armies—thousands at most.

Now, a single street in New York held nearly a million civilians.

She was visibly tense.

One energy blast in a crowd like that could kill tens of thousands.

"No need to worry," Aiden Cross said calmly. "This is just the government trying to use Captain America's reputation to suppress us."

The idea was clever.

But they had overlooked something critical.

Within the Avengers roster they were assembling to rival the Hero League…

They had accidentally recruited a future catastrophe.

Garou — the Hero Hunter.

A martial genius with the potential to become an Ultra-Dragon-level disaster.

And someone who despised heroes.

Aiden could already foresee it:

Captain America, hailed as the ultimate hero, becoming Garou's next target.

At the same time, Aiden's perception caught something else.

A violent energy disturbance rising from the ocean.

"Mash," he said quietly, "recall every Hero League member currently on assignment."

"If the government believes the Avengers can handle disasters…"

"Let them face what's coming from the sea."

A faint smile crossed his face.

"The show is about to begin."
