The room was silent.
This was not the peaceful kind of silence. It was the oppressive silence that settled over places where even whispers feared to exist.
The chamber itself was hidden beneath layers upon layers of ancient barriers. Thick stone pillars surrounded a circular hall illuminated only by pale blue crystals embedded into the ceiling. Every entrance was guarded by people dressed in featureless black robes, each wearing smooth masks that concealed their identities.
At the very center stood a single chair, almost resembling a throne. Seated upon it was a woman.
The only visible parts of her body were her long, snow-white rabbit ears, the crimson eyes peering through the darkness, and a pair of pale hands resting gracefully on the armrests.
Lady Agatha.
She remained perfectly still. Before her knelt nearly a dozen masked individuals. None dared lift their heads. None dared breathe loudly. One of them finally spoke.
