Chapter 4 - The twin gods.

Sugi bashes someone's head in with the spike ball of the Kusarigama. Yanking it off to rip their head off. While Yumi just came into the picture.

Sugi turns to look at her. "You're late."

"I got ambushed in my sleep." Yumi panted. While Sugi shook the blood off the weapon. "It's fine. That's all of them."

The wind and thunder blew harder as they spoke. The bright sun darkened in no time.

Yumi corrected her. "I don't think that's all of them."

Two blurs of speed launched through the air. Dancing through the air with a blinding speed. And once they stopped. Both of them unleashed lightning and wind at the two warriors. Which only made them slide on their feet.

Both of them were covered in blue, and the other in green cloth. But both of their outfits had gold. with a crown on their head. With a spear in their hand. And the other was barehanded. They had tattoos in opposite parts of their cheek. One was a wind and lightning one.

"Brother, these are the women?" The one barehanded crossed his arms. Narrowing his arms. The other grinned fiercely. Spinning his spear. Before pointing at Sugi

"I want to take the blindfold off of that one." Sugi got in stance.

"That is none of your business." Sugi said fiercely. Unsheathing her Katanas. T with his spear tilted his head. He observed Yumi's Katana. "Thunder… You toy with my element?"

"Who sent you here?" Yumi asked.

"You know exactly who sent us." He crossed his arms like his brother.

"You do not want to fight thunder for thunder." Yumi got into stance.

In excitement. He bit his lower lip. "The sun goddess said you are worth that threat." Yumi gritted her teeth. "Am I?"

Before any response. He launched his spear at Yumi. But she's quick enough to phantom dodge back with a spin. as thunder strikes down the spear just in case she got too close. He teleports and swings around on the spear like a pole to kick her.

Yumi's fast to sidestep it through. He pulls himself up with the spear and swings it down on Yumi. She steps back to dodge it. And thrusts at his vulnerability. However he pops it up to parry it. She swings down diagonally violently to recover but he dodges back. But Yumi doesn't stop and spins to the side she tried to swing and horizontally launch a swing.

However he's enjoying himself. He just blurs back. Putting his spear on both sides of the back shoulders for his arms to rest. "Close one."

While Yumi glares as she walks slowly to him with Katana in hand. "Who are you?"

"I am Raijin. I am the god of thunder. My brother, Fujin. The god of wind. We have came to stop your threat to this island."

Yumi furrows her eyebrows. "We should not fight. You do not know what you're fighting for."

"Oh, but I do…!" He lunged at her.

Meanwhile. Sugi got ready to unleash a barrage of slashes with her dual katana. Spinning as she lunged forward to Fujin. Spinning as Fujin dodged her relentless charge with back to back handspring. Until he couldn't anymore, she caught up to him. But he leaned back. And uppercut through the gap of her arms. Making her stumble back. She grunted. "Bastard!"

Fujin didn't say anything back, he just came flying with a triple spinning kick. But she blocks with her Katanas. Pushing off of her with the last kick with a spinning backflip as he exchanged three physical kicks for three wind slashes with the sheer speed of his kicks breaking through the air.

That didn't stop Sugi though. Sugi reached for the Kusarigama as she grabbed it like a rope to bend it around to block the first one. Deflect the second and reflect the third one.

Fujin is shocked and barely dodges. But it gives Sugi time to throw the Kusarigama at the god of wind. Wrapping the spiky chain around his waist and she grabs the sickle flying at her. The Kusarigama wrapped around him in the shape of an x as she yanks him towards her.

The two collide with incredible strength as Sugi's foot connects with Fujin's arm. However, Fujin slaps her steel hat down. Blinding her more than she already is. And then Raijin comes in and front flip slams her into the ground that makes a crater. His hand making sure she's eating dirt. He grins widely. "Bitch!"

Yumi yells at her friend's vulnerability. "Sugi!" She slams a smoke bomb. But the smoke is sucked in by Fujins hand. As he's flying around. Bursting through the air to fly toward her. But she handsprings back to dodge the tackle and throws three Kunai at Raijin. Who dodges by blurring into the sky. But she doesn't stop there. She throws a pair of three more.

Raijin spins and twirls through the air as he dodges the first pair. Before bursting into a change of direction to dodge the other. Before he flies into the sky with a spin. Looking at Yumi from above with a grin. Before teleporting with thunder.

Fujin does his brother a favor and the smoke from the previous smoke bomb flies into the two female warriors.

"Sugi!" Yumi called. Sugi was right beside her. "Yumi… These gods are crazy."

Yumi responded. "Adaptability is the only way."

"Not for long."  Raijin teleported in between Yumi and Sugi and slammed his spear flat on the ground. Causing an explosion that sends both of them back. Fujin went to Yumi as he dangerously lunged at her and slammed his fist into the ground. Yumi rolls out of the way. "Stop. We are giving you a chance!"

While now it's Sugi Vs Raijin. Sugi slides as she pulls out her polearm. Ready to go head on with Raijins spear as she does a cartwheel with the spear and pulls herself up for a tornado kick. However the god of lightning quickly sidesteps and only walks around her. But Sugi tries to sweep kick but fails and recovers with a low centered spin around with her spear to sweep his legs. But Raijin just uses his hands to spin and hop over Sugi. And the two clash tips with their weapons. Raijin gets close to her face. "You are weak."

However Sugi jumps over him and pushes off his spear with her polearm. Trying to get a thrust in but he tilts to the side and they both clash handle for handle. "You will die before you see me fall." Sugi assured him.

Fujin quickly tries to hit her with his heel but she steps back and dodges by a chin before stabbing his leg with the Katana. Making him grunt before twisting it and ripping it out of his leg. Making him yell. As his leg is brutally twisted.

"Got you." Yumi gritted her teeth. Raijin yelled at his brothers fall.  "Noooooo!" He tackles Yumi as he snatches her into the sky.

"You whore!" He grabs Yumi's wrist which is close to reaching his face. And she unleashes the hidden blade to make it that much closer. Yumi called to him. "Your brother made his choice."

She raised her katana in Reverse grip. But Raijin grabbed her by the throat. And he chuckles "We live and we die. Surrender. And Amaterasu will show you mercy."

"If she can take it all back." She pressed more strength. But she gets kneed in the stomach and thrown to the floor.

"Sugi!" Yumi yelled as she was falling. Gesturing with her hand to help her. Sugi looked up. Fujin already disappeared. But she nodded back.

Sugi dashed as she launched herself into the air. And she grabbed Yumi's hand. "Go!" Yumi yelled as she spun around and threw her.

Raijin grinned as he flew to charge head on. Spear in tact.

It was a clash that was certainly Raijin's. But Sugi was so much faster and stabbed him through the temple reverse grip. And she landed on his shoulders behind him as she grabbed her other Katana cut his head off as she roared.

Yumi again, in awe at her friend. Watched her kill a god. Meanwhile, Fujin flew away in the distance. His head down as he bursted in speed. She could've chased after him. But she didn't. She took a deep breath as she turned around and glanced back for a moment.

Right in front of her. Sugi landed. "He got away." She muttered. Yumi put a hand on her back. "He was weak." We should get going."

Sugi grunted a bit as she held onto her. Wrapping an arm around Yumi as she weakly spoke. "Yumi… I'm hurt." Her stomach had a puncture. She wasn't faster. She survived through it. And managed to get to him.

"!!" Yumi was surprised as she held her. She looked around.

"I did not want to see that Bastard in hell…" Sugi grunted as she dropped to her knees.

"You're talking nonsense." Yumi yelled at her. She whistled for her mount. "Horse!" The Horse flew by her as she snatched onto it. She had Sugi front of her lying back. And as she rode. She had her hand on the wound to avoid anymore blood.

The temple doors cracked open with a groan, and the chamber filled with the soft hush of swirling wind. Fujin staggered inside, his robes torn, his leg dragging slightly from the wound Yumi had carved into it. His fists clenched at his sides, but his eyes stayed low, avoiding the blazing throne at the heart of the room.

Amaterasu sat there, radiant yet unreadable, her golden eyes glowing with divine fire. The torches in the hall bent toward her, as if desperate to bask in her light.

"You return," she said calmly, though the weight of her voice pressed into his chest. "But alone."

Fujin's jaw tightened. "…Raijin has fallen."

The silence after his words was deafening. A ripple of divine energy surged from the throne, and the entire hall quaked. Even the air seemed to recoil.

"You let mortals take your brother from you?" Her voice sharpened, no longer calm but cutting, like a blade across his skin.

He looked up. "You mean our brother?"

The room was silent.

"I fought until my body broke," Fujin said, forcing his voice steady. "They were… stronger than we believed. Raijin chose to fight to the death." He bowed his head lower, his fists trembling. "I— I could not stop it."

Amaterasu rose slowly from her throne, her footsteps echoing. Each step filled the hall with searing light. She reached him and raised a hand glowing with divine warmth. The wounds on his body began to knit together, the pain fading as healing coursed through him.

"You are forgiven," she whispered, her voice smooth but venomous. "But you are still mine. I will mend you, and you will finish what your brother could not."

Fujin exhaled sharply as the last of his pain vanished. His body was whole, yet his heart only felt heavier.

"…As you command," he muttered.

Amaterasu tilted his chin upward, forcing him to meet her gaze. Her eyes burned like the sun itself. "Do not fail me again. Grief is weakness. Duty is eternal. Remember that."

She turned away, her robes trailing firelight across the floor. Fujin remained kneeling, but his eyes were shadowed, his breath uneven.

When she vanished deeper into the temple, Fujin finally stood. The storm in his chest raged louder than the one outside. He looked to the empty space beside him, where his brother once stood.

"…Brother," he whispered to the silence. "What would you have me do?"

Wind gathered around him, swirling as if answering the question he dared not speak aloud. And in that moment, Fujin's loyalty cracked—grief birthing doubt, doubt birthing something dangerously close to rebellion.

He turned and left the temple, wings of wind carrying him away from the goddess's light.
