The tense atmosphere finally calmed down, and a system was established. Every few hours, a person from the refugees would partner with someone from the other side, and they would check up on the borders.
It was mainly done because Seraphina and Emperor were suspicious of the refugees and did not want them going out alone.
No one said much, but the air between them just got worse.
The first group to take up patrolling was Emperor and the unofficial leader. They looked ready to kill each other, and the air eased up once they finally left.
"I don't trust that guy who went with Emperor. He has been trying to pick a fight with us ever since he came here. Are you sure he's not an imposter?"
Seraphina asked as she drank from her bottle. They were running low on supplies as well, and soon, they would have to go out and forage for more.
