Chapter 35 - THE PRICE OF SURVIVAL

After the hell Yue Ming endured with the "Demon" and the demon's eventual death, he desperately wanted to leave the forest. However, he stumbled upon a gruesome sight: a pool of blood, severed organs, and shattered bones. Terrified by the scene, he tried to flee.

Yue Ming spoke, his voice trembling with horror: "What are all these organs...? I... I have died so many times!"

Driven by pure panic, he ran at full speed toward the forest's edge, oblivious to anything around him. He had only one goal: to escape this cursed forest.

Yue Ming, stressed and afraid, cried out: "Faster... why am I so slow?"

Once he finally exited the forest and escaped the horror of what he had seen, he could at last catch his breath. He began punching the ground frantically, his emotions a chaotic mess of stress, rage, and fear.

In another place, in the Kingdom of Elves:

A meeting was being held between the King, his aide, and his Minister of Finance.

Touma: "We have killed the dragon, but a much stronger threat is approaching the kingdom."

Ringiro: "What is it, my lord?"

Touma: "The Three-Headed Scorpion."

Ayaka: "It has threatened humanity for many years. It is extremely dangerous and has killed over a million soldiers."

Ringiro (shocked by the staggering number): "What? How will we defeat it?"

Touma: "I have a plan, but it is suicidal; many soldiers will die—more than half of the kingdom's army."

Both aides spoke in unison: "What is it?"

Touma (placing a map on the table): "We must lure it to the west of the city. There are many large buildings there, and this scorpion is afraid of massive structures. It will start breaking the buildings in its fear, and that is when our soldiers will emerge. A suicide squad will confront it, but one among them will carry a terrifying explosive magic. Once it is damaged and immobilized, it will lash out at everything around it. Then, three soldiers will jump onto it and activate three more explosive abilities to sever one head. As for the remaining two heads, the kingdom's generals will lead the charge to cut the second, even if it costs half of their lives... and for the final head, we will use the last of our explosive power."

Ayaka: "And how will you kill that final one?"

Ringiro: "What you don't know is that we have developed a destructive power capable of blowing up the entire city. We only have one."

Touma: "Agreed?"

The Aides: "Agreed!"

Suddenly, a soldier burst through the door, terrified and panting.

Soldier: "Sire! Numerous monsters are attacking us from the Forest of Eternal Darkness... because the 'Grim Reaper' has died!"

Touma: "What? How did the Grim Reaper die? He terrified many kingdoms!"

Soldier: "I don't know who killed him. The important thing is, come and fix this situation!"

Everyone rushed outside. They saw monsters and soldiers locked in combat while buildings burned.

Touma: "Archers to the east! Swordsmen to the west! The rest—spearmen and cannons—also to the west!"

The soldiers scrambled to arrange the battle lines. The monsters were massive and numerous. They advanced toward the east to slaughter the archers, but soldiers armed with swords and other weapons ambushed them from behind. One monster tried to flee from a vast distance, but Ayaka brought it down with a single, precise arrow.

Ringiro: "I congratulate you on your brilliance, King Touma!"

Touma: "No need for thanks. The quick plan defeated the beasts!"

However, more monsters emerged from behind the lines, slaughtering most of the soldiers with extreme brutality. The survivors fled for their lives. The monsters smashed through houses and buildings, killing innocents—women, children, men, and the elderly. They killed everyone and devoured their corpses savagely.

Touma: "What do we do?"

Ringiro: "I have only one solution left."

Touma looked at Ringiro, knowing exactly what he meant. In utter despair, he whispered: "Do it!"

He unleashed the destructive power upon the ground. The countdown began: 10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1.

The explosive force of the bomb wiped out most of his kingdom.

Ayaka: "It was our only choice."

Touma (weeping for the fallen): "So many innocents have died!"

Touma collapsed to the ground. Ringiro quickly placed him in his bed. When he finally woke up, he leaped from the bed, crying out in agony: "Where are the innocents... where are the innocents...?"

Ringiro (hugging him to comfort him): "This is the damage of war, my friend!"

Touma stood up from the bed, still weeping, and began punching the wall with such force that he repeatedly cried: "So many died because of me!"

Ayaka: "It was the only solution."

From the intensity of his strikes against the wall, his hands began to bleed.

Ringiro helped Touma back to bed and treated his wounds. Looking at the King with deep sorrow, Ringiro said: "He must sleep to recover from what has happened to him."

Ayaka: "Why does he cry so much for the death of the innocents?"

Ringiro: "Because when he was a child, his village was destroyed. He was adopted by the previous King after his entire family was killed. No one else survived."

Ayaka (crying): "What a tragic story. Let's go and let him rest alone."
