The knight has finally reached the top, at a distance a temple can be seen. Looking for a safe place to put aside the boy. He then hears a ringing sound.
His worries was proven true, something did happen.
Going down such a steep path, he had no choice but to bend to nature. Not letting himself slip and fall to death.
He hurried, and he heard the sound again. He was already half way down.
In his mind he suspected the eloquent man to be a dreamer, hiding a memory wasn't out of the question. Knowing the paths in this mountain is already a dead giveaway. The eloquent man had a plan.
Had the eloquent man suspect I would be fast enough to return down. Taking the girl away and then blocking my path with the abominations he called.
If the knight made the man climb first it would still be dangerous, not knowing this area he can choose to hide alone or take away any of the two children left with him.
As the knight crashed down, he saw mayhen. The eloquent man dead and a few larvea are also dead.
The girl was now blind loosing her eyes.
"Damnation, what happened here?"
"Th-the man pulled me away, saying he knows a safe way out of the mountain. Until he summond a bell I panicked... he tried to pull me again. He was then ambushed by- by some monsters."
"What happened to your eye?"
"The man then summond a weapon killing a few of those monsters, he couldn't pull me away in his rage he blinded my eye and finally carried me."
Putting her hands in her missing eyes, her tears and blood flowing down.
"I tried to choke him with this cloth you gave me. I... I don't know what I should've done."
Pitying the girl the knight consoles her. Telling her not to explain anymore.
The knight then carried the helpless girl climbing the mountain. Time isn't on their side, subtle trembling on the ground can be felt. The mountain king is near.
During his fight with the mountain king, it was evident that it excels in climbing rather than running. Without anyone to guide them, their remaining path is to reach the highest point of the mountain.
Soon the two slaves has regrouped. The boy still sleeping was also carried. Searching for another path the girl whisper to his ear as her carries her.
"Where you aware that the adult slave would do it?"
"Yes."
"For how long?"
The knight paused, the girl understood what it meant. The knight knew or atleast suspicious of the eloquent man, long before the knight climbed the wall.
"I... I have a mission..."
The knight spoke of duty and responsibility but ultimately he was just helping for his guilt of not being able to help the innocent temple slaves.
Sunny dismissed the Knight's excuse, despite such optimism it was clear he can't help us anymore, the mountain king would surely search the area down and inevitably climb up. Eventually reaching the group.
Before Sunny could tell the knight to let them down, the knight confessed again.
"Im sorry... I can't let myself die here young lady."
With a heavy heart the knight slowly puts them down. The knight knew and was going to abandon us if things becomes out of his control.
"what is happening? where are we?"
waking up, the boy asked. Sunny faced the boy and suddenly his legs was repeatedly stabbed.
The memory of spite, only those who are the target of the user's spite will fail to see this memory. All along Sunny had carried the weapon, the trouma made him cruel. Everything seemes like a threat, his final hope was aware of the tragedy that happened to him.
"Ahhg!"
Repeatedly stabbing the legs of the boy. The scream echoes, with it came the rumbling.
The knight was still in shocked of what has happened. Unaware of the knife Dunny was holding. Moments later the mountain king came.
"What have you done!" the knight immediately runs away.
Sunny then moved away from the boy after stabbing him. Soon the screaming boy was ravaged the monster, playing with its limbs, and the knight would also follow the boy's fate.
The ringing sound of the bell followed the knight, without knowing any path for escape he was cornered by the monster
Sunny wandering near the temple, his body limps not knowing where to go. The world is such a dark place, only the sound of horror can be known.
'what now...?'
A question for himself, soon the abomination will find Sunny and this will be the end.
'Rain... I won't give up.'
Moving forward is the only thing he could do, summoning the shroud armor he obtain after killing a few larvea.
It was surprisingly easy to kill one using sound to direct it's attention, without any sight Sunny stumbled to a few larvae and using the bell he manage to kill a few and receiving a memory.
Meeting the cold feeling of the stairs. Sunny used the edges of the stairs as his guide moving forward.
When the knight became silent, it became unbearably cold. The wind was like an omen.
As he reached out moving forward.
His hand became heavy, too heavy. Sunny couldn't move his hand in front of him.
a loud cracking sounds from his hand can be heard
'Something is grinding my hand!'
Sunny internally screamed, it was the abomination standing on his hand.
'does it know!? did it hear!?'
His hand began to bleed, his nails cracked and fingers bent. It should've been splattered already if not for the shroud.
The pain grew each second it takes. It was just like the recent torture only this time there's nothing that blocks his mouth from screaming.
Throwing the bell away, he eventually escaped. But Sunny had no strength left.
Exhaustion has reached him. The bell didn't go far, it was laughably close. Looking back he saw something, even without eyes. Death was staring at him.
"Damnation."
