It took ten minutes before Myles finally sprinted with the Bloodfade Step active. He tried to maneuver around the Commander and attacked him, but he always failed, leaving a bitter taste in his mouth.
Finally, Myles halted and measured the amount of demonic energy he spent.
It's only a quarter. It really doesn't consume much demonic energy.
The Commander said, "Ten minutes, huh? I recalled I also only lasted ten full minutes of keeping the Bloodfade Step active when I was at the same rank as you."
Myles was utterly surprised.
He stared at the Commander in silence.
"Why are you surprised? Even if you have a noble bloodline out of sheer luck, your core's quality shouldn't be higher than mine."
Myles was speechless.
He thought. Is it because my core has an ancient demon bloodline?
In the end, Myles nodded. "I see. I wish to reach the same rank as you and defeat you one day."
The Commander exploded into a hoot of laughter.
He said, "I'm looking forward to it."
