Chapter 23 - Haha the thing you were waiting for here it is!!

Malenia's gaze moved calmly from one tailed beast to the next.

The first was the Four-Tails—a massive red ape, muscles coiled beneath its fur, with eyes burning with raw hostility. Beside it stood the Five-Tails, a creature shaped like a white horse but with a head resembling that of a dolphin. Two long, sharp horns curved back from its skull, while three shorter ones jutted forward, giving it an unsettling symmetry.

Across the field stood the Six-Tails. Its body was white, tinged with pale blue, resembling a bipedal slug. It had stubby arms, thick legs, and six long tails dragging behind it. Compared to the others, it looked slower—but no less dangerous.

Malenia studied them for a moment before speaking. "Isobu must have completed his task."

The tailed beasts answered her words with action. Each began gathering chakra—dense, violent, and purple—forming massive spheres in front of their mouths.

Before they could finish charging, A voice reverberated in the battlefield.

"Ninja Art: Summoning Jutsu."

Malenia slammed her palm into the ground. A large plume of smoke spread across the battlefield. From the smoke emerged a giant turtle, its shell thick and heavy like a crab's carapace, with jagged spikes covering its entire body. Malenia stood atop its back.

"You did your job right?" she asked calmly.

The turtle—Isobu—nodded. Without hesitation, it began forming a tailed beast bomb, aiming directly at Kirigakure. At the same time, the Four-Tails and Five-Tails shifted their focus, turning away from Kiri to face Iwagakure instead—and fired.

The Six-Tails responded immediately, releasing its own tailed beast bomb toward Kiri. For a moment, the battlefield froze. Shinobi on both sides stared in disbelief, fear tightening their chests.

Mū reacted instantly. He gathered chakra, his hands steady, and released Dust Release, erasing one of the incoming tailed beast balls midair—vaporising it completely. But the second ball—

There was no time. It struck head-on.

Boom.

Explosions tore through the battlefield on both sides. While Iwagakure managed to stop one tailed beast bomb, Kirigakure had no such fortune. Two attacks struck them directly, the shockwaves flattening the land and consuming everything in their path. Smoke, fire, and debris filled the air.

As the explosions slowly faded, they left behind a devastated battlefield. Where the tailed beast ball had struck, the land was destroyed—replaced by craters filled with smoke, molten rock, and shattered bodies. Kirigakure's formation was in ruins. Shinobi lay scattered, some unconscious and others dead. Nearly losing 1\4th of their troops

Gengetsu Hōzuki hovered above the ground, his expression dark. "...Fcking Uzumaki again."

Across the field, Mū stood silently, his eyes narrowed as he assessed the destruction. Approximately 100 shinobi had already died from that tailed beast ball on his side. These tailed beasts were indeed weapons of war. After all, this was the first time they were being used in battle, and it backfired.

Then—

His gaze snapped back to the centre of the battlefield.

Malenia.

Still standing atop Isobu's shell.

Mū spoke, his voice low. "She is the reason this happened."

Ōnoki looked up sharply. "Lord Tsuchikage?"

"That woman," Mū continued. "She can control tailed beasts like Hashirama!"

Mū's words had barely settled when Malenia felt it.

That sensation.

The one she had felt countless times before.

This time, it didn't disappear like everytime rather,

It surged.

Her breath hitched. A sharp pain tore through her chest, deep and familiar. Malenia clenched her teeth, her body tensing as the pressure inside her spiked violently.

"Tch—"

She staggered half a step, one hand gripping Isobu's shell.

"Isobu," she said, her voice strained but firm. "Go back. Tell the other tailed beasts to run. Head to the Land of Whirlpools. Now."

Isobu stiffened.

He could feel it too.

This chakra was heavy and suffocating, like something long buried clawing its way to the surface. An ominous pressure pressed down on his instincts, screaming danger.

Without questioning her, Isobu turned his massive head toward the other tailed beasts.

"Go," he rumbled.

In a burst of smoke, Isobu vanished.

For a brief moment, the battlefield was silent—then the tailed beasts moved. They turned and fled, retreating with surprising agility.

Shinobi from both villages stared in disbelief.

Before anyone could react and catch the tail beast

The chakra at the centre of the battlefield skyrocketed.

"Is there another tail beast being born !!

Someone shouted in the crowd.

A crushing pressure exploded outward, forcing shinobi to their knees. Weapons clattered to the ground. Even seasoned jonin struggled to stay conscious as the air itself seemed to thicken.

Mū's eyes widened.

"This chakra—!"

Gengetsu's expression shifted,

At the centre of it all, Malenia's head hung low.

Her breathing was uneven.

Then—

From her back, something began to emerge.

The scarlet petal emerged, morphing into a magnificent bed of flowers. Suddenly, it burst outward in a dazzling display, scattering petals in all directions. Each petal swayed gracefully in the air; it was a mesmerising spectacle that captivated the senses. The scarlet petals flowed with beauty, drawing in all who witnessed the display.

The ground beneath her feet darkened, cracking as faint red veins spread outward. The air carried a strange scent—sweet and rotten at the same time.

Malenia clenched her fists.

"…What is this feeling?" she muttered. "It feels familiar but also foreign."

The petals continued to bloom.

And every shinobi present understood one thing instinctively—

This monster was more terrifying then tailed beast.
