The mist thickened as chakra stirred the sea.
Malenia then sheathed her sword and brought her hands together, forming hand seals.
"Water Release: Rising Tide Formation."
Chakra surged from her palms into the sea. The water beneath her feet lifted and spread outward, rolling forward in controlled layers instead of crashing wildly.
Gengetsu chuckled and answered in kind, hands already moving.
"Water Release: Great Water Surge."
A towering swell erupted in front of him. The two techniques collided, sending pressure waves rippling across the ocean's surface. Mist burst upward, swallowing the battlefield.
Malenia didn't stop.
Her hands flashed again.
"Water Release: Piercing Water Spears."
Condensed lances of water formed midair and shot forward in tight formation, slicing through the fog toward Gengetsu from multiple angles.
Gengetsu calmly formed seals.
"Water Release: watewall
The spears struck the wall and got neutralised. (Well, it was Kage using Waterwall, so it had more durability.)
Malenia didn't stop there; she again went through the seals
"Water Release: Twin Water Dragons."
Two massive dragons erupted from the sea, spiralling inward with crushing force. They slammed into Gengetsu—
—and dissolved through him like mist through a current.
The dragons collapsed into rain.
Malenia then stepped forward and drew her blade, chakra reinforcing her movement. She then swung it with full power.
Her sword cut through him.
No resistance.
But unexpectedly, Gengetsu reformed behind her, hands already weaving.
"Water Release: Water Severing Wave."
A compressed blade of water tore across the surface. Malenia twisted aside, the attack slicing past and splitting the sea before sealing itself again.
She landed, straightened—and stopped.
Her hands lowered.
"…So you can turn your body into water. Then my sword is useless here."
Gengetsu smiled. "It , took you long to understand that"
"Now let's stop playing", he said and then went through hand seals and slammed his hands on the water surface.
Summoning Jutsu
The water beneath him swelled.
A massive shape surfaced slowly, displacing waves as it rose. A giant clam, its shell ridged and ancient, emerged from the sea, chakra spreading outward the moment it fully appeared.
The air changed.
Mist thickened instantly, rolling across the battlefield in dense layers. The horizon vanished. Sound dulled.
Gengetsu's voice echoed from everywhere
"Now let's see how sharp your senses really are."
Malenia did not move.
She stood still on the water, sword lowered, eyes steady.
The world around her fractured.
Multiple Gengetsus appeared—some above the water, some reflected beneath it, some standing impossibly close. Their chakra signatures overlapped.
genjutsu
She recognised it immediately.
Genjutsu layered over mist.
Instead of attacking
Malenia knelt.
Her fingers touched the water's surface.
Sealing marks spread outward in a thin, precise circle.
The water around her brightened faintly as the seal locked into place.
The illusions flickered.
Then it vanished outright.
Gengetsu clicked his tongue somewhere in the mist. "Troublesome clan."
The clam pulsed again, intensifying the genjutsu.
Malenia stood.
She didn't chase the Mizukage.
She chose to target that large clank first
Her free hand moved through signs.
A containment seal shot across the water like a chain, snapping toward the massive clam. The creature recoiled as the seal latched onto its shell, restricting its chakra output.
The mist thinned.
Reality snapped back into place.
Gengetsu reformed a short distance away, eyes narrowed for real this time.
"hmm, impressive"
Malenia looked at him, then flew through another hand seals and smashed her hand on water surface.
Then, complex kanji started to spread in circles, encircling them both inside.
Gengetsu looked at the sealing encircling seal around him, and his instinct flared. He tried molding chakra to escape, but he felt he could no longer use chakra inside the circle and then he felt his death behind him.
He suddenly turned to see, but then his eyes rolled back, and he fell unconscious. Before falling, he thought, "damn it, i underestimated them, and this arrogance became my death."
Malenia stood over the unconscious Mizukage, who was completely covered with seal to restrain his chakra and his consciousness.
She then lifted Mizukage's unconscious body with one arm and shouted, "Mist shinobis, you lost. Surrender, or I will kill your Mizukage.
Seeing their Mizukage unconscious, they retreated immediately. They didn't think about MIzukage anymore and ran back to the kirigakure.
Then Malenia turned to her people and shouted, "We won."
Cheers erupted.....
