Chapter 17 - Inheriting Power To The Real World

'Option 6 is definitely out of the question, as while it had provided me a lot of convenience at the start of the Global Ocean Survival, it won't be useful in this world now.'

'Moreover, as a Stage 5 Abyss Sovereign Body in the Leviathan Tempering Path, I can already survive underwater by letting my body absorb the oxygen in the water. So the Water Breathing talent is already becoming redundant.'

With the process of elimination, Zayne was only left with Option 2 and Option 3.

To be honest, he was quite torn between choosing either of them.

Option 2 was self-explanatory, as choosing it would unlock the system inventory.

However, Option 3's Survivor Authority came with an item inventory. Not only that, but it could also digitize resource acquisition and crafting.

The Survivor Authority was a unique product of the Global Ocean Survival World, and it definitely contained the world laws or whatever it was called.

It gave him a headache on which one to choose, causing him decision paralysis for a minute.

In the end, Zayne no longer hesitated and decisively chose Option 2.

If Option 2 didn't come with the system inventory, he might be tempted to choose Option 3.

After all, the fairy fruits he collected were indeed powerful, but they couldn't be immediately used by him. Other items, like raft upgrade materials and sea monster carcasses, were also useless, and only a few items he collected were useful.

But forget it, in the end, letting his system have more features was more important.

At most, he'll just see if he can choose the Global Ocean Survival World again to get the Survivor Authority.

After Zayne chose Options 1, 2, 4, and 5, he suddenly felt power surge within him.

Clenching his fist, Zayne had an illusion that he could destroy the entire dormitory building and school campus.

However, he knew that it wasn't an illusion, as his Abyss Sovereign Body could indeed achieve it.

In just a few seconds, Zayne managed to deal with the changes and got used to them. He already possessed this power in the doomsday life simulation, so inheriting it in the real world didn't cause any case of control loss.

Although the doomsday life simulation made him experience a year of grinding, Zayne didn't mind, as it was better than getting the power instantly out of nowhere.

After Zayne obtained all his chosen simulation rewards, the time stop was lifted.

As soon as it was lifted, Zayne heard the groaning and slamming sounds that came from the zombies outside.

Looking at the metal crowbar he had taken out to protect himself before, Zayne chuckled, "I've become so strong that it's already useless."

Extending his hand, metal chains appeared on his palm, slithering in the air.

Most melee weapons in the real world weren't as good as the ones he created with his metal creation.

However, despite his newfound power, Zayne wasn't arrogant enough to do whatever he wanted and expose himself.

He hadn't forgotten that everyone awakened a talent. Even if most were useless, what if he encountered someone possessing an absurdly powerful talent that could counter or even kill him?

'As they say, the nail that sticks out the most gets hammered first. As long as I just expose enough power to protect myself and mind my own business, it won't be a problem to survive until the next simulation attempt.'

'I can make use of my metal creation ability and disguise it as my talent. This should be enough to deal with zombies and hostile survivors. But if it isn't, it's not like I can't transform into a True Fairy.'

Zayne decided to keep his True Fairy Form as his trump card.

However, if he was forced to reveal his true power, he didn't care, as he only did what he found convenient.

Using his Unlimited Food Creation (Gold) talent, Zayne created a pack of potato chips and opened it.

Just as he was about to eat it, a loud scream resounding throughout the school campus interrupted him.

"For fuck sake. Who is dumb enough to scream in a zombie apocalypse? Don't they know that in most movies and animation, zombies detect prey via sound?"

As Zayne had expected, the zombies that lingered outside his dormitory door seemed to be attracted by the scream.

With those zombies gone, the dormitory floor became much quieter, giving Zayne some peace.

Although the loud scream seemed to sound like a woman, Zayne wouldn't immediately assume that a woman caused that scream. He still remembered some men could scream like a woman when they're truly frightened.

"I wonder what Henry is doing. He wasn't in the dormitory room when I woke up."

As for why he suddenly remembered Henry, it's due to recalling a certain incident where Henry screamed like a woman after a spider landed on his shoulder.

Missing his bros, Zayne muttered, "Since there's still seven days left before I can use my innate talent again, I might as well do a side quest."

"Reuniting with my dorm mates can be put on top of my agenda. With how talented those motherfuckers are, the innate talents they awakened, even if not top-tier, wouldn't definitely be bad."

Eating a potato chip, Zayne grabbed his mobile phone, which was placed on the desk, and checked if the internet connection and mobile data were available.

Seeing that neither was down yet, Zayne decided to give Henry a call.

'Damien is likely having the time of his life in bed with a woman who might or might not have already become a zombie, so I won't disturb him.'

'On the other hand, Henry owed me money, while Alan didn't. Henry can't die yet without paying the 50 bucks he owes me.'

As Zayne waited, his mobile phone soon gave a notification that the call couldn't be connected.

Zayne didn't give up yet and called Alan, and then Damien.

However, just like Henry, the call couldn't be made.

Zayne cleaned his hands and erased the pack of potato chips he hadn't finished yet.

Standing up, he peeked at the window and saw zombies chasing his schoolmates.

One of them must have caused that loud scream, especially a certain female student who was clutching a bitten and bleeding arm.

Zayne ignored them, but as he looked out at the window, he couldn't find his dorm mates or even his friends anywhere.

Since they were nowhere to be found, Zayne sighed, "Oh well, I still have some time. Might as well help them kill those zombies."
