Chapter 49 - Chapter 49 - Elysia: Crushing Noobs is So Much Fun

[In the video, after the conclusion of the Saber and Lancer team's encounter, the Rider team appeared. The King of Conquerors, dressed in casual clothes, was walking down the street with his young Master, Waver.

Waver was clearly unhappy about this, complaining and grumbling non-stop, but the King of Conquerors paid him no mind, laughing heartily and saying it was no big deal.

This was truly a delightful interaction between a Servant and his Master.

From their conversation, it seemed the King of Conquerors wanted to buy some alcohol to hold a feast, though the nature of the feast was unknown.

This piqued the curiosity of the viewers, who began to speculate on what the King of Conquerors was planning.

Without a doubt, the pair of the King of Conquerors and Waver was eye-catching. Many people stared at them as they walked.

After all, a muscular man over two meters tall walking with a petite young boy under 1.6 meters tall—both of them foreigners—was a strange sight no matter how you looked at it.

Waver was under immense pressure the entire way. They were attracting too much attention, and many passersby were whispering among themselves.

Then, as they passed by a video arcade, Waver happened to glance inside and was instantly frozen in shock.

Because Gilgamesh, also in casual clothes, was happily playing video games with a gorgeously dressed young woman.

There was no need to guess who that young woman was. In this Holy Grail War, the only ones who could make the King of Heroes swallow his pride and play video games with them were likely Saber and Elysia.

And since Saber would never do such a thing, the beautifully dressed girl was naturally our dear Elysia—after all, it wasn't like Elysia had any other clothes.

At that moment, the two of them had completely failed to notice the King of Conquerors and Waver outside, engrossed as they were in a fierce competition inside the arcade.

A circle of children had gathered around them, waving their hands and cheering them on, though most of the cheers seemed to be for Gilgamesh. The few adults nearby were in uniform; they were clearly the arcade staff.

"Hoh hoh hahahaha—! Elysia, what do you think? This King told you... you are no match for me!"

After the intense game ended, amid the happy shouts of the children, the King of Heroes let out a laugh that stunned the viewers.

You call that the King of Heroes? Are you sure that's not some random brat from the street? Combined with the crowd of cheerful children around him, it was over... As expected of the Oldest Bully, had he evolved into the king of the kids?

Beside him, Elysia simply sighed and looked at Gilgamesh with a look of charity... no, it was more like pity. "Sigh—King of Heroes, I've played a hundred games with you here, but you were miserably defeated in the previous ninety-nine. And this last round? I let you win. Your gaming skills are just a bit too pathetic, don't you think?"

"Insolence! How could you possibly comprehend this King's true strength? I was merely accumulating experience before. After all, this King has not been in this era for long. Hmph—though it is a boring age, the creation of such enjoyable entertainment is just barely acceptable."

How could the prideful Gilgamesh possibly admit that his skills were terrible? He just lacked experience. Besides, if it came down to pure ability, once he activated his all-knowing, all-powerful star of wisdom, he could master any game in an instant. A mere Elysia could be flicked away with a finger.

"Oh? I wonder which king it was this morning who got so angry he couldn't afford to lose and threatened to smash the entire arcade~~~" Elysia feigned a thoughtful expression, casting a meaningful glance at Gilgamesh.

The nearby staff members were trembling in fear. The scene from the morning was still fresh in their minds. This chuunibyou youth had come in, declared he wanted to experience the pleasures of the era, and then proceeded to try every single game in the place. But with his abysmally clumsy controls, he couldn't even clear the simplest of games.

The enraged youth had been about to smash the place to bits, but luckily, the young lady who happened to be out for a stroll appeared just in time to stop him. She started playing games with him, which was the only reason he didn't fly into a rage.

But that being said, this chuuni was seriously rich. Not only did he cover the arcade expenses for every child present for the entire day, but the tip he gave the staff was enough for them to not have to work for the next twenty years.

If one could latch onto such a wealthy person, who would want to remain a mere service worker? It'd be like a sparrow turning into a phoenix! As for his chuunibyou tendencies... it was normal for rich people to have a few quirks. As long as you had money, nothing else was a problem.

Unfortunately for them, Gilgamesh was fated to never look twice at these mongrel staff members whose names he couldn't even be bothered to remember.

---o---

"Oi—King of Conquerors. You've been waiting over there for quite some time. What business do you have here? I'll say this in advance: although this King is in a good mood today, if you wish to start a battle, this King will not be stingy with his treasures."

After winning the final game and feeling he had redeemed himself, the King of Heroes ignored Elysia's "sore loser" comment and instead addressed the King of Conquerors standing outside the arcade.

The King of Conquerors just dazedly scratched his head and then asked, "What are you guys playing? Is it fun? Can I join in?"

This simple-minded response made Waver, standing beside him, flush with shame and anger. Losing his temper, he no longer cared what kind of tyrant the king before him was. He started slapping his own Servant, pointing at the King of Heroes, and yelling, "What do you mean 'is it fun'?! This is the Holy Grail War! What in the world are you people doing?!"

"Hmph?" The King of Heroes shot a glance at Waver. The boy's anger instantly vanished, replaced by sheer terror. He'd almost forgotten—this guy was not to be trifled with. If he provoked that temper, even his Rider probably wouldn't be able to help him.

But he had already pointed. He couldn't just take it back now. Waver stiffly moved his pointing finger from the King of Heroes over to Elysia. He had no choice; she looked like she had a much better temperament than the King of Heroes.

"Are you asking me? That's a good question. Why did I spend the whole day playing games here?" Unsurprisingly, Elysia, who was now being pointed at, had no reaction. Instead, she seemed genuinely puzzled as to why she had wasted a full day of her life here.

The King of Heroes, however, was displeased with her muttering. "Fool. It is for this King's sake, naturally. Only when this King is entertained do you subjects have a reason to exist."

Elysia completely ignored the King of Heroes and answered Waver's question. "Because this king's skill level is so pathetic, it's really satisfying to crush him. So before I knew it, a whole day had passed."

Waver: "!!!"

Miss Elf, I admit I shouldn't have pointed at you, but you don't have to kill me by borrowing someone else's knife! Telling me this is clearly just trying to get Gilgamesh to destroy me, right?!

Ignoring Waver's feeling that he was about to die from fright on the spot, Elysia spoke with a light and cheerful tone. "Hmm... not only is it fun to crush him, but the game itself is quite interesting. Want to give it a try?"]
