Chapter 5 - After the War

"Even my father was defeated. Do you think you can save him if you go up there?"

Hearing Baldr's words, Hela calmed down.

The other party is right, the difference in combat power is too great.

"asshole!"

Hela felt a deep sense of powerlessness as she looked at the figure hovering above Odin's head, wielding Gungnir like a true god.

She was confident that she would not be weaker than Odin in the future, but when faced with Atheron, who almost crushed and defeated Odin, Hela realized for the first time how vast the universe was.

"I lost..."

Odin took a deep breath. Although he had never been defeated since ascending the throne, Odin was not a sore loser.

Moreover, he did not sense any killing intent from Atheron.

This shows that the other party had no intention of killing him.

"In the end, it was arrogance..."

Odin sighed inwardly.

Through years of battles, he had fought against dimensional demons before.

But whether it's Mephisto or Dormammu, as long as they don't fight in their own dimensions, the other side has no way to deal with him.

If they were to actually cross dimensions to fight, Mephisto and Dormammu might not be able to defeat him.

In addition, his undefeated record in conquering the Nine Realms over the past few centuries has made him begin to enjoy the thrill of power.

Even someone as arrogant as him could be blinded by power one day.

"In this universe, you should be considered one of the strongest beings."

Atheron wasn't just making things up.

When Odin was alive, he was virtually invincible in the Nine Realms.

Even the gods of other pantheons wouldn't dare say they could defeat Odin.

"I just came out to see what a strong person is like, and I have no intention of targeting Asgard."

Atheron gave a kind smile.

Ever since he learned that this was the Marvel universe, he began to plot.

The identity of a dimensional lord is not enough for him.

Although this dimension is a bright boundary.

When Atheron was born, he sensed the difference between the Bright Realm and other dimensions.

The Bright Realm can grow and can also devour other dimensions.

Just like the King of Chaos, it devours the entire multiverse.

However, Atheron took a more moderate approach.

The essence of the Bright Realm and the Marvel Universe is quite similar.

Once the Bright Realm dimension grows, it will become an infinitely vast world no less powerful than the Marvel Universe.

However, he cannot accomplish this great feat by himself alone at present.

Subordinates are a must.

Atheron tossed Gungnir to Odin.

"I think highly of you. How about it? Would you like to become my subordinate?"

Atheron gave this Lord of the Nine Realms a very high evaluation.

If we can really subdue them, it might not be a bad thing.

"There are only god-kings who die in battle, not god-kings who submit."

As expected, Odin rejected Atheron without hesitation.

"What a pity..."

This result was not unexpected for Atheron.

After all, Odin is the same in every universe.

Atheron did not insist.

Anyway, there's plenty of time after Ragnarok.

If Odin cannot subdue her, he can subdue Hela, or even Thor.

Therefore, Atheron didn't care at all about Odin's rejection.

Hela and Baldr almost had their brains shut down when they saw Atheron and Odin talking.

The two, who were fighting fiercely just minutes ago, are now chatting.

Odin truly admired Atheron's power; respecting the strong was a principle Odin had always held.

"Excuse my bluntness, but with Asgard alone, you are still far from being able to conquer the universe."

Walking on the roads of Asgard, Baldr and Hela followed behind.

Seeing the heavily guarded Asgard, Atheron shattered the illusions in the hearts of the group.

"Humph!"

Hela seemed somewhat unconvinced, but due to Atheron's immense power, she couldn't refute him.

"Actually, I've noticed this problem too..."

Odin sighed.

Although Asgard's current army is almost invincible in battle.

But the more Odin learned, the more he felt his own insignificance.

He was originally confident that it was just a matter of time, and that given enough time, he would be able to lead Asgard to its peak.

But after witnessing Atheron's power, he realized that his ideas were somewhat naive.

Atheron hadn't expected that Odin would realize this problem so early on.

However, if he and Odin hadn't had this battle, perhaps Odin wouldn't have truly awakened until one or two thousand years later.

Then, after breaking with Hela, Asgard will face the end of Ragnarok.

Now, with Atheron's wings flapping, it's anyone's guess which direction Asgard will take.

"Could there be an army in the universe more powerful than Asgard's?!"

Hela couldn't help but speak up.

Asgard's army is now quite formidable.

Putting aside Hela's undead army, Asgard also has Valkyries and Valhalla.

Hela simply couldn't believe that anyone in the universe could surpass Asgard with such power.

Speaking of the Asgardian legions, Atheron gave Hela a meaningful look.

The most formidable legions of Asgard, all of whom died at your hands in later generations.

"As long as you are happy."

Atheron did not refute Hela, but instead replied with a smile.

This infuriated Hela.

To be fair, although Hela inherited the Godhood of Death at this stage, her personality had not yet changed.

Atheron felt that Odin bore an unshirkable responsibility for Hela's transformation into that form in later generations.

They were so patient when training Thor, but when training Hela, they forced her to grow too fast.

Hela's origins in later generations are connected to Asgard; as long as one is in Asgard, her power will continue to grow.

If Odin hadn't done it himself, no one in Asgard could have accomplished this.

The unprecedented expansion of power, coupled with the constant killing, caused Hela's death godhood to affect her mind, making her cold-blooded and murderous, and ultimately leading to a falling out with Odin.

Odin probably realized his mistake at that time.

So he didn't kill Hela, but instead imprisoned her in Helheim.

It is hoped that Hela can control the power of the God of Death.

Unfortunately, Hela had gone too far astray and could not be brought back.

So when Odin died and Hela was born, they wiped out Asgard.

This indirectly led to Ragnarok.

Looking at the still-alive God of Light, Baldr, Atheron had some guesses about Odin's actions.

This original heir to the throne of Asgard, who was said to be a god who would bring a bright future to Asgard, likely perished in later generations.

That's why Odin did the thing of linking Hela with the power of Asgard.

He had already lost one outstanding child, and he didn't want to lose a second one.

Odin, however, did not expect that this action would cause him even more pain.
