Chapter 41 - Choking

CHAPTER 39

Meta force! The fuel of all ability users.

This is what fuel abilities all metas use. Anybody that has a meta force in them, even if a little, is therefore classified as a meta whether their ability is weak or not.

They were instantly placed above the normal humans who all arrive to become a meta too.

And right here, right in the Corps' clinic, Ray had just discovered that he had awakened his meta force which actually meant that he was a meta?

But how was that possible?

He hadn't learnt an ability. The ability book he had purchased with his life saving of three years, was actually burnt right in front of his eyes so how?

Even if he had the ability book, there was no sure way of knowing whether the ability he would have gained would be useful.

Judging by the fact that the book's cover was bad, worn out and dirty.

Yes. He was doing the same thing as even the ability shop keeper then.

Judging the book by its cover.

But he hadn't cared then as long as he had an ability, he was all good. But still, the book was destroyed so how did he actually awaken a lightning ability?

'... Wait a moment. Lightning ability? Where did it come from? I don't think I have seen or even heard of a meta with an ability like that.

No ordinary or common meta has been spotted with a lightning ability before. Which meant it is a legacy ability.'

Legacy abilities. Abilities reserved for a certain faction or group that decided not to share their abilities with the world.

'Huh? That doesn't make sense. So how did I actually get a legacy ability then? Something is obviously wrong he…'

He paused as a memory flashed through his mind deepening his scowl.

'That day, the book was burnt and turned to ash. It floated towards me and smashed into me sending me hurtling backwards and crashing into the train wall huh?

But before I lost consciousness, I never did smell any burnt thing in the air. I never smell the ash in the air after it hit me. So where did it actually go?'

He began rubbing his temples with a deep frown on his face totally forgetting about his fight with Flinn and his absurd behaviour.

His excited mind was fixed on his new ability.

'Ah f*ck this! What's the use of thinking and worrying about it? I got an ability that is all that matters.'

He paused, thinking briefly.

"But there's a problem. With an ability like this, I feel like it's a legacy type so I will be forced to keep it hidden." He muttered under his breath.

'ARGHH!' He roared inwardly as he clapsed his hair furiously.

'F*CK, f*ck! After getting an ability after so long, I'm forced to hide it again? I hate hiding! I don't want to hide my power which I gained!'

He ranted for a few seconds inwardly before calming himself back down with a deep breath as he now began rubbing his temples.

He stopped doing that for a moment as he exhaled sharply.

"Haaa… just for the main time. When I'm powerful enough to protect myself and Van, I won't hide no more."

With that silent declaration, he turned his gaze to the remaining two locked bloodlines.

'I wonder what other bloodlines I would gain and how powerful they are. Is this the system's way of promising me immense power soon? I now wonder how much longer it will take.'

Tak. Tak. Tak.

The sound of footsteps snapped him from his thoughts as he looked up to see someone walking towards him.

A female to be precise.

Her flowing purple hair cascaded down her back, her black eyes stared at him deeply. Her face was framed with a round glass which she occasionally pushed up her eyes.

Her white shirt's button could be seen straining to hold back her generous mound on her chest which were pushing forth trying to snap the buttons loose.

'I take she's the healer eh?'

"Oh. You are awake." The healer smiled warmly at him as she stood before him.

"You were in such a state that I thought it would take you a day at least to recover. But see you up and ready to rumble." She chuckled at her own awkward wording.

Ray didn't give a response as he was trying his hardest to take his eyes away from her chest.

But for some reason, his eyeballs kept darting towards it with a word repeating in his head.

'Squeeze the balls…'

Catching himself on time, he scolded inwardly;

'Damn! Teenage hormones. Control yourself fool.'

Clearing his throat after noticing that the healer was staring at him intently, afraid that she might notice a bump soon, he quickly spoke;

"Uhm… when am I going to be discharged?"

"Huh? Oh." The healer quickly snapped out of her own thoughts as she pushed her glass back on her face again.

"All your injuries have been healed, and you look fine to me. But I still need to thoroughly check your body to be sure, if you don't mind."

Ray just shrugged.

"Sure. No problem."

Stepping forward, all of a sudden, Ray felt a soft pillow placed on his face causing his eyes to widen and his cheeks to flush red in an instant.

Trying to keep his eyes open, he could see the healer's boobs placed on his face as the scent of her perfume wafted into his nose while she professionally checked his head for any injuries.

'Actually, I mind!' He yelled inwardly as he could feel his budge growing more profound by the second.

The healer oblivious to this was carefully checking his head, face, arms and whatnot thoroughly while unconsciously pushing her E-cup boobs up Ray's face choking him for a few seconds before she finally stepped back.

"Well, you are fine now. So you can leave." She uttered while tapping on her tablet.

Then she lifted her head up to see Ray's reddened pale face staring at her while gasping for air.

"Are you actually feeling okay?" she innocently asked.
