Greg paused then to let his threat sink in. He also made sure to glare at each of them in turn to show them that he was very serious.
After he was sure that they had gotten his message, he smiled and said, "Why the gloomy faces? It is like I took your money. Cheer up."
"Don't just damage my airship during the fight, or I will fine you. As long as you don't do that and you help me capture the airship, everything will be fine."
With that final warning, he turned back to the control deck with a nonchalant attitude befitting someone who wasn't about ready to kill everyone around him.
His behavior caused many people to swallow nervously. And even though Greg had begun to grumble about their incompetence again, no one spoke up to encourage him to become silent.
No one was willing to contradict him after that lady lost her arm. Now that they saw more of what he was capable of, they had even more reasons to shut up and accept whatever Greg says without flinching or grumbling.
