In the universe of my novel, humans are divided into three statuses:

The elite of society
Possess leadership instincts and strong charisma
Can sometimes go into a heat cycle
Generally admired and desired, but sometimes dangerous for Betas and Omegas.
[Beta]
The majority of the population
Maintain social stability
Do not sense pheromones and do not have a special period in their daily life.
[Omega]
Have a unique charm
Both male and female Omegas can become pregnant
Emit very strong pheromones during their heat period.
About punctuation in this story:
Quotation marks (" ") are used to show dialogue, that is, when a character speaks out loud.
Asterisks (*) are used to show a character's thoughts, what they think without saying out loud.
This distinction helps to better understand what is being said and what is only felt or imagined by the characters.
