Those deep within, the ancient evil gods, told Elias this through their consensual silence.
It was hard enough for those beings to even earn the right to be called Gods, having spent tens of thousands of years slaughtering and devouring each other to climb to their current positions. They did not want to get involved in a life-or-death, world-destroying war between the Goddess of Light and the Mother of Corruption. Thus, they mercilessly sold out the Mother of Corruption - an evil god just like them - to preserve themselves and their petty territories.
Existences that could be called Deities, without exception, possessed intelligence surpassing humans and cold calculation. Whether evil gods or righteous gods, it was all the same; self-interest and survival were always placed first, above any temporary alliances.
Elias noticed a hint of abnormality in this disappearance.
