Not knowing how long she had been unconscious in the silent underground space, Jasmine groggily felt a warm breath, faintly smelling of a strange woody scent surrounding her. It was a kind of breath that made her feel both familiar, as if she had encountered it somewhere before, and strangely reassured. Perhaps too reassured; her consciousness, which was hazy and aching, sank into a heavy sleep again, forgetting the current dangerous situation.
"Jasmine... wake up."
"Jasmine, can you hear me?"
The low, rambling voice calling by her ear, both patient and anxious, made Jasmine, who was sleeping soundly, unconsciously frown in annoyance. Then she felt a pair of large, warm but rough hands gently pressing between her eyebrows, seemingly wanting to smooth out Jasmine's tightly knit brows full of distress.
Jasmine's long eyelashes fluttered uncomfortably a few times, heavy as lead, then slowly opened her eyes, trying to adapt to the surroundings.
