Two days ago, a heavy downpour had fallen on the forest; the air still smelled of moldy decaying leaves. But thanks to that, many brightly colored mushrooms sprouted from tree stumps and the decaying leaf carpet in the forest.
When leaving the slope full of wild grape vines, Jasmine also saw a broken rotting log lying horizontally, its black trunk growing full of shiny black, thick wood ear mushrooms.
Jasmine picked some and put them in a cloth bag, intending to go back and catch a wild hare to test for poison. If the hare was fine and the wood ear mushrooms were indeed edible, perhaps she could try finding a few rotting damp logs to cultivate mushrooms herself in the warehouse.
