The Royal Library was vast, dusty, and smelled of old paper and dead spiders.
Elian stood in the center of a labyrinth of bookshelves, staring at the chaos Rowena had left behind. It looked like she had tried to find a specific legal precedent by throwing every other book on the floor.
"She really is a villain," Elian muttered. "Who treats books like this? I bet she dog-ears the pages."
He cracked his knuckles.
