The CEO was grinding her teeth at the shameless man on the other end of the call. He spoke as though he had genuinely had no idea that Mellory Financial's clothing line had exploded overnight, despite the fact that he had confidently proposed a ten-million-unit sales target, demanded a thirty-percent share of the profits, and even offered to wait until the advertisements had finished running before collecting his payment. How could he possibly have been unaware of what that advertising would do?
Vivian understood perfectly well that Marcus had known exactly what the Dominion advertisement could achieve from the very beginning. He had simply chosen to keep quiet about it, and now he was pretending he had been completely uninvolved in the results.
She had no choice but to call him out. "Marcus, stop joking around. The press conference is tomorrow, and I still have an entire mountain of things to deal with today. I'm drowning over here."
