Suddenly, a loud commotion came from the sky. A pair of giant wings flapped twice before stopping above the street. The powerful wind created by the massive wings made it difficult for everyone below to stand steadily.
Raj narrowed his eyes and looked at the person standing on the giant flying creature, and a faint sense of unease rose in his heart.
"[System, scan the target in front of me]," Raj quickly asked in his mind.
"[No Pokémon detected in front of the host. No matching record found]," the system replied.
Raj frowned.
"Such a huge thing and you're telling me it isn't a Pokémon?"
Before Raj could think further, a large net suddenly dropped from inside the giant bird-shaped machine and trapped him together with Haunter.
"So that's how it is, it's a machine," Raj realized immediately.
"Damn it, this net is extremely strong, even Haunter can't break it," Raj said through clenched teeth.
"Raj," Ash and the others shouted anxiously as they ran over after seeing him being captured.
But since even Haunter could not break the net, Ash and the others' Pokémon had no chance of stopping it either.
"Raj," Ash and the others could only watch helplessly as he was pulled into the giant machine.
After being dragged inside, Raj felt confused. Who were these people, and why were they capturing him? Had something happened somewhere?
Did something happen to Kenji?
Meanwhile, Ash and the others immediately contacted Officer Jenny after witnessing Raj's capture. Soon, many people were mobilized to search for information about the mysterious giant flying machine.
"Ash, do you think Raj will be alright," Misty asked worriedly.
"He'll be fine, you know how strong Raj is, he won't get into trouble easily, we'll do our best to find where he was taken," Ash replied firmly.
"That's right Misty, we need to find him as soon as possible so we can figure out what happened," Brock said with a serious expression.
While Raj remained trapped inside the giant mechanical bird, the system's voice suddenly sounded again.
"[Main quest updated: Achieve first place and obtain the prize]."
"What kind of task requires first place, system explain it clearly," Raj asked.
But the system did not respond again.
After flying for an unknown amount of time, the machine finally stopped.
Raj was then taken away with his hands tied.
The man escorting him threw him into a small dark room and looked at him coldly.
"Hey who exactly are you and why did you capture me what do you want," Raj asked calmly.
"You are quite bold, in this situation instead of worrying about your safety you are thinking about my intentions," the man said with amusement.
"If you wanted to harm me you could have done it already on the airship," Raj replied as he stared directly at him.
"I am becoming more interested in you, you actually noticed that it was not a Pokémon but a mechanical airship, this machine took a long time to develop and most people would mistake it for a real Pokémon yet you saw through it immediately," the man said with a smile.
"Have you ever heard the saying don't underestimate your opponent," Raj replied lightly.
Raj remained calm because he knew the system could identify any Pokémon, even those outside the Kanto region.
"Very good calm under pressure if you are given time to grow you will definitely become someone who shakes the entire region," the man said approvingly.
"Enough with the compliments many people have already said that I am tired of hearing it tell me who you are I do not want to die without knowing who captured me," Raj said impatiently.
"Good you have courage however I am not here to kill you I am here to assign you a task you may call me Zaobo," the man said with a smile.
"Assign me a task then why tie me up and who are you what right do you have to give me orders untie me immediately," Raj said coldly.
"I cannot do that if I untie you then with the strength of your Pokémon I would need extra effort to control you and that is unnecessary," Zaobo replied calmly.
"As for the task I am assigning you I believe you will accept it because it comes from your father Kenji's decision," Zaobo said slowly as his smile disappeared.
"My father who are you are you one of his subordinates are you also from Team Rocket my father never revealed my identity easily so why do you know it," Raj asked rapidly.
"You have asked many questions at once how should I answer them," Zaobo said as he rubbed his hands together.
"Since I know your identity then naturally I am your father Kenji's trusted subordinate and I am also a member of Team Rocket," Zaobo said as he opened his lab coat and revealed a large red R inside.
"Do you believe me now."
"Where exactly is my father and why did he not give me the task personally instead of sending you," Raj asked suspiciously.
"Lord Kenji is very busy with many important matters and does not have time to come personally so he sent me to deliver this task because he believes you now have enough strength to help him," Zaobo explained.
"Is that so he finally believes I am strong enough to help him now," Raj murmured quietly.
"When can I see my father," Raj asked firmly.
"Just as I expected you are still cautious," Zaobo said as he took out a watch.
He pressed a button and a holographic image of Kenji appeared above it.
The holographic message had been recorded earlier and instructed Raj to cooperate with Zaobo and assist him in completing the assigned task.
"Alright now I believe you can untie me and bring my Haunter back as well," Raj said unhappily.
"Yes Young Master I will untie you now and your Haunter is already inside your Poké Ball," Zaobo replied politely as he removed the ropes.
"Looking at Young Master's bearing I can see he truly resembles Lord Kenji and will surely achieve great things at a young age," Zaobo added respectfully.
"That is enough flattery tell me what task my father wants me to complete," Raj said as he looked directly at Zaobo.
