Raj looked at her calmly for a moment before speaking.
"Can you tell me what happened? And where are we?" Naomi asked anxiously, her voice trembling.
"Don't think too much," Raj said softly. As he spoke, Raj turned toward Haunter.
This Pokémon had followed him for a long time and knew exactly what Raj was thinking. Haunter floated silently to Naomi's side.
"Haunter, use Hypnosis," Raj ordered coldly.

"Forget what happened before. Just remember that I'm the person closest to you. I'll give you a sense of safety. You can trust me."
After Naomi fell under Haunter's Hypnosis, Raj stood beside her, repeating those words softly.
Naomi, who had been visibly panicked, suddenly relaxed. Her expression softened.
She felt as if Raj had always been there — her first love.
Memories she didn't truly have filled her mind: going to school with him, picnicking together, watching Pokémon battles side by side.
As long as Raj was near, she felt safe.
Seeing her expression change, Raj's lips curved slightly.
It seemed Haunter's Hypnosis had improved again — as its battle power grew, its Hypnosis became far more effective.
"Go pour me a glass of beer," Raj said casually.
Naomi smiled sweetly and fetched him a glass. Watching her serve him with that docile smile made Raj feel oddly satisfied.
Still, he wasn't sure how long Haunter's Hypnosis would last. If Naomi suddenly woke up at a bad moment, it would be embarrassing.
After finishing his beer, Raj stepped outside the airship with Haunter hovering beside him.
He had just acquired a Shiny Grimer — one that possessed the Fusion Ability.
Haunter had already eaten to its limit inside the cave earlier, so Raj decided to use this new Grimer to gain some experience. He was curious to see how its power worked.
He took out a Poké Ball from the system space and threw it to the ground.
A flash of white light burst out, and a soft, mud-like Pokémon appeared before him.
What surprised Raj was that this Grimer wasn't smelly at all — in fact, it gave off a faint fragrance.

"As expected of a system Pokémon," Raj muttered, smiling. "This one's a keeper."
He led the Grimer back into the cave, where several unconscious Pokémon still lay scattered around. Following Raj's command, Grimer began to crawl toward them.
When its muddy body enveloped a fainted Pokémon, the two quickly merged into one — the smaller Pokémon's essence absorbed completely.
System prompts began ringing in Raj's mind:

One after another, the fusions continued. Within minutes, the Shiny Grimer's combat power had jumped from 80 to 160, and its evolution progress had reached 50%.
It finally stopped moving — apparently it had reached its current limit.
Raj stared at the data in awe. In just a short time, this Grimer had doubled its combat power and was halfway to evolving.
"If all goes well, it might evolve by tomorrow," Raj murmured. "That's insanely fast."
After feeding Grimer, Raj and Haunter exited the cave. The moonlight outside was silver and soft, bathing the forest in calm stillness.
On a large tree nearby hung a silver Iron-Shelled Kakuna.
When it spotted Raj, it chirped eagerly — it was his Shiny Kakuna.
Raj had left it outside earlier, hoping it would evolve soon. If it didn't, it would remain a weak link on his team.
"System," Raj asked curiously, "is there any item that can make this Kakuna evolve faster?"
["Host, we recommend three items in the Points Mall that can accelerate evolution," the system replied in its usual cold tone.]
Raj opened the Points Mall and found three listings:
Spring of Life Water — Greatly aids a Pokémon's evolution. A single drop can shorten evolution time by half a year. (200,000 points)
Toxic Crystal — Enhances Poison-type Pokémon, increasing their battle power and speeding up evolution. (100,000 points)
Sonic Jammer — A technological device that accelerates Pokémon evolution through sonic interference. However, prolonged exposure can be fatal. (Limited-time discount: 10,000 points)
Raj's face darkened.
"What kind of scam is this?" he muttered. "The only one I can actually afford might kill my Pokémon!"
Still, the Sonic Jammer rang a bell.
He remembered it from the original Pokémon anime — Team Rocket had once used a similar device in a lake experiment that created a red Gyarados.
Its temperament became wild and violent, but its power skyrocketed.
Raj looked up at the Kakuna on the branch, sighed, and decided to take the risk.
"If I play this right, I might just turn a bicycle into a motorcycle."
He redeemed the Sonic Jammer, placed it near the Kakuna, and adjusted the frequency to a low interference level — enough to keep the Pokémon agitated, but not harmed.
The experiment had begun.
