Everyone was disoriented. Jerry's hair fluttered aggressively, and his legs remained firmly crouched, his teeth gritting as the elevator dropped.

Marcus, on the other hand, crossed his arms, wearing a strangely excited expression on his face as his white, spikey hair fluttered too. Even a faint smile crept on his lips.

I raised a brow.

Is he trying to look cool or something?

The two soldiers didn't even flinch. They just held their guns as they stood in a measured, trained fashion, evidence of their familiarity with this.

Finally, the descent seized.

Everyone let out relieved sighs as we stood upright. Katie's mom almost fell to the ground in relief.

I controlled my breathing, staring at Katie whose eyes remained steady on mine.

I smiled.

"Uh.. you can let go of me now, Mr."

My smile faded.

"Oh, sorry." I cleared my throat, dropping her on the floor, and she stood on her own.
