Asher walked out with the twins, heading to the car for the school run.
He was buckling Kai's seatbelt when movement caught his eye—someone in a parked car three spaces down, quickly looking away.
Asher froze. Was that...?
But when he looked again, the person had their phone up, seemingly scrolling. Just another resident checking emails before work.
He shook his head. He was getting paranoid.
Work Parking Garage.
Asher was walking from his car when he heard footsteps behind him.
He turned.
Damian was several cars back, pulling a briefcase from his trunk.
He must have parked near Asher by chance. The garage was huge, hundreds of spots.
But as Asher walked toward the elevator, he could feel eyes on his back.
In the elevator, he pressed the button for his floor with shaking hands.
This was the third time this week he'd seen Damian. Coffee shop Monday. Grocery store yesterday. Parking garage today.
Three times in five days.
