Asher sat at his computer, staring at the screen in disbelief.
The Nakamoto merger file—six months of work, hundreds of hours of negotiations, meticulous documentation—was gone.
Not just deleted. Completely corrupted.
"No, no, no," Asher muttered, frantically clicking through backup folders.
Those were corrupted too.
His phone rang. Internal extension. The IT department.
"Mr. Quinn-Park? This is Derek from IT. We're seeing some unusual activity on your account. Have you accessed any external links or downloaded any files recently?"
"No. Nothing unusual. Why?"
"Your system appears to have been compromised. Multiple files corrupted. We're working on recovery, but..." Derek paused. "It doesn't look good. Whatever happened, it targeted specific project files."
Asher's stomach dropped. "The Nakamoto merger?"
"Among others. The Henderson contract. The Sullivan acquisition documents. Basically every major project you've been working on."
