"Lian!"
Seeing the man appear at the kitchen doorway, a flash of pleasant surprise lit up Rory's eyes. "You're back from Beast God Mountain?"
Lian strode over quickly and pulled Rory into a hug. "Mm, I'm back." His eyes looked at Rory earnestly. "Are you happy to see me?"
"Of course I am," Rory said with a smile. "I'm also really surprised. Didn't you tell me yesterday that you wouldn't be back for another two days?"
"Because I missed you too much, I picked up the pace and rushed back early without stopping for a single moment." Lian gave Rory a quick kiss on her cheek. Then, releasing her slightly, he asked, "I just heard the two of you talking about packing stuff. Are you going somewhere?"
Nix explained, "I asked Rory to accompany me back to the Lion-Tiger Clan tomorrow."
