Rory decided she truly had no energy left to deal with him.
She went into the dressing room, changed into a fresh set of clothes, washed up, and headed downstairs in search of something to eat.
Seeing her leave, Xarion finally pushed himself up from the floor. He swayed slightly as he followed behind her, looking as though even walking required effort.
When Rory turned toward the kitchen, he spoke in his usual faint, drifting tone.
"Female Master, Vincent said before he left that he prepared breakfast for you."
"I know. Do you want some, too?" she asked casually.
Xarion shook his head. "I've already eaten."
In fact, breakfast had been made by him and Vincent together.
The previous night, Vincent had laid down the rules clearly: if Xarion intended to remain in this household, he would share responsibility for everything in it.
The chefs hired from outside could not reproduce the flavors the Female Master liked. That meant they would have to cook themselves.
