Chapter 90 - Speedrun

Lin Feng and Yu Shen sat opposite each other.

Lin Feng had a serious expression.

"How was it?"

Yu Shen's expression was equally serious, causing Lin Feng to feel a little nervous.

Then Yu Shen smiled widely.

"What do you think?"

Lin Feng sighed in relief.

"You almost scared me for a second there."

"C'mon, didn't you already see the gains?" Yu Shen asked.

He leaned back.

"Yesterday was one of our best days yet - losing out only to day one. Our percentage was 0.74%. From that, we got ¥286 from performance fees."

He paused.

"Though the management fees are still slow. Only ¥3."

He waved his hand.

"But you needn't worry. With yesterday's performance, we've officially completed a full week. We encountered a crisis and solved it. Those who withdrew in panic are already returning - and they're regretful."

He smiled.

"Next time, they're bound to be even more loyal. And those who didn't leave? They've been reassured that their decision was the correct one. Now they're even more determined to stay with us no matter what, because we've proven we can always get back up."

He nodded to himself.

"This is actually quite good. With this incident, it softens the blow if we ever hit a negative day in the future."

He exhaled.

"Anyway, with that incident behind us, our incoming funds are surging. We're approaching ¥400,000, and I predict we'll hit half a million by the end of today."

"That much?" Lin Feng asked.

Yu Shen nodded.

"Of course. Those who joined on day one are also increasing their investments and inviting even more people. Word of mouth is powerful."

Lin Feng nodded slowly.

It seemed Tianji had already taken off and didn't need the sponsorship anymore. It was ending today anyway.

Then suddenly, he had a thought.

A smirk crossed his face.

Maybe we could get to a million before the end of the day...

The two of them chatted for a while longer, discussing future plans for Tianji and potential expansion strategies. Eventually, they decided to grab lunch together at a nearby restaurant.

The conversation continued over food - talk of algorithms, investor psychology, and market trends. Yu Shen was surprisingly insightful when it came to the technical side, while Lin Feng offered his perspective on growth and marketing.

They only parted ways when it was almost time for Lin Feng's exam.

Lin Feng returned to campus and made his way to the examination hall.

Students were already filing in, finding their assigned seats. The room was filled with a tense energy - the kind that always accompanied exam season.

Lin Feng found his seat and settled in.

At the front, the instructor stood with a stack of papers.

"You will have two hours to complete this examination," the instructor announced. "No talking. No looking at your neighbor's paper. If you need to use the restroom, raise your hand. Any questions?"

Silence.

"Good. You may begin."

The papers were distributed.

Lin Feng received his and flipped it over.

Advanced Mathematics 1

He flipped through a few pages, scanning the questions.

A smile tugged at his lips.

This should be fine.

He picked up his pen and got into it.

The exam was two hours long, but Lin Feng didn't feel he needed that much time.

After the first thirty minutes, he was more than halfway done.

By forty-five minutes, he was just going through his work, reviewing everything carefully.

By the one-hour mark, he set down his pen.

He stood up, gathered his paper, and walked to the front.

The other students looked up from their seats, eyes wide with shock.

Already?

Is he giving up?

No way he's actually done...

The instructor collected the paper and glanced at it briefly. Then he looked up at Lin Feng and gave a small nod.

Lin Feng nodded back and walked out.

Behind him, the instructor turned to the remaining students.

"One hour remaining."

The curious gazes immediately snapped back to their papers.

No one wanted to waste any more time.

Lin Feng walked down the corridor.

Behind him, he heard footsteps moving rapidly.

He paused and turned around.

"Class monitor?"

He asked before fully seeing who it was.

Sun Xiao stood there, looking shocked.

"How did... how did you know?"

Lin Feng smiled.

"Who else but our class monitor could be so smart to finish the paper in just an hour?"

She pouted.

"You finished before me."

"An hour, an hour and one second - does it really make a difference?"

He shrugged.

She reached out and held onto his sleeve.

"Anyway, it's not good to talk here. We're making noise for the others."

The two of them stepped out of the building.

"Was there something you wished to talk to me about, class monitor?" he asked.

"Why?"

She mumbled it quietly.

"What?"

She looked down, still holding his sleeve.

"Why do you always call me that?"

"Ah, class monitor?"

He scratched his cheek apologetically.

"Sorry. I didn't even realize I was using it."

He tilted his head.

"So how should I call you? Sun Xiao sounds too formal too."

He held his chin in thought.

"You can call me Xiaoxiao," she said.

"Xiaoxiao?"

A slight blush colored her cheeks.

"Yes. All my friends call me that."

"Well then, Xiaoxiao it is."

He smiled.

"What did you want to talk about?"

The two started walking together.

Sun Xiao explained that she had been summoned to the chairman's office earlier that day. The chairman wanted her to be the head of the newly restructured incubator program.

"I just wanted to hear your thoughts on it," she said.

Lin Feng nodded.

It seems the chairman considered my recommendation.

"Do you not want to do it?" he asked.

"It's not that I don't want to..."

She hesitated.

"I'm just unsure, you know?"

He smiled.

"I understand."

He glanced at her as they walked.

"You wanted to be a teacher, right? You even said you didn't want to be a private teacher because many families can't afford private tutoring."

She nodded slowly.

"Normally, that wouldn't matter if you just wanted to be a teacher. So that means... you don't really want to be a teacher."
