The pressure pushed the window open, revealing a bigger gap. Then, Ashrik reached for the edge before lifting it slowly. The rust let out a faint, creaking noise, but nothing too alarming.
The attic was as still as before. No movement came from the inner door.
Ashrik threw his gaze to Isaac, locking eyes with the fire wielder. After a nod, he waved his hand. A small gust lifted the older man off the ground, weightless as dust.
Isaac exhaled a breath, ensuring the concealment stayed firm around them both. As Ashrik stepped inside the attic, the former followed next. Their boots landed softly on the wooden boards.
The air inside smelled stuffy. Sunlight streamed through the glass behind them, highlighting the dust suspended in the air.
"Whew." Isaac glanced around the attic, taking in the surroundings. "Not bad."
Ashrik said nothing. He glanced outside, making sure no one was around, before slowly closing the window. He purposely let the latch off.
"Let's go," he said curtly.
