Bardock looked at their questioning gazes and smiled slightly as he said, "No, I was just talking."
The others immediately breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this. Paragus's expression visibly relaxed, and he quickly said, "Your Majesty, you scared your subordinate. Saiyan Star cannot be without you!"
Bardock knew in his heart that Paragus was simply afraid of all the political affairs falling on him alone if he were to quit. Bardock ignored Paragus and instead turned to his eldest disciple and godson, Broly, asking with concern, "Broly, do you feel any abnormalities in your body now?"
Broly closed his eyes, felt carefully for a moment, then shook his head and replied, "Master, I feel very good now. There are no abnormalities, exactly the same as before the transformation."
Raditz spoke up then and said, "But the limiter also forces Broly to exit his Super Saiyan form. Can Dr. Mu improve it so that he maintains his sanity after transforming?"
Bardock smiled, stroked his head, and patiently explained, "I discussed this idea with Dr. Mu at the very beginning, and the conclusion we reached was that it's impossible. This is a bloodline issue. External forces cannot yet limit genes."
Broly, however, seemed very open-minded and said nonchalantly, "This is already very good. Anyway, there's no danger on Saiyan Star. I'll just focus on improving my mental power. Combat techniques can be learned without needing to transform."
After hearing this, Bardock pinched Broly's little face and smiled with relief as he said, "It's good that you think that way. Your problem now is a severe lack of mental power. Once you raise your mental power, you'll be able to remove the limiter. External forces are, after all, external forces. Our Saiyan race can reach the peak without external forces."
Broly said with firm eyes, "Master, don't worry. I will work hard!"
Bardock nodded and said, "Good. Your master believes in you!"
Paragus interjected from the side, "With Your Majesty's careful guidance, this child Broly, your subordinate believes he will surely achieve great things!"
Bardock glanced at Paragus and said, "That's natural. I believe Broly will become the Saiyan's God of War in the future."
Seeing that matters were finished, Bardock lifted his wrist to check the time and said with a smile, "It's almost dinner time. Paragus, joining us?"
Paragus's eyes clearly showed a hint of willingness, but he quickly shook his head and said, "Although I'd love to, your subordinate has to have dinner with the kings of several West Galaxy planets at noon, so I won't be able to go."
After hearing this, Bardock patted his shoulder and said, "You've worked hard. Then you go about your business." With that, he took the two children and slipped away.
Paragus watched the quickly disappearing Bardock, shook his head helplessly, and muttered to himself, "I wasn't asking you to come along, so why run so fast?"
At this moment, an assistant walking from a distance came over and picked up the conversation as he said, "My Lord, His Majesty might be rushing back to see Empress Gine."
Paragus nodded slightly and said, "Perhaps. His Majesty and the Empress are very much in love."
The assistant continued, "Then, My Lord, can we arrange for the banquet to begin?"
Paragus frowned and said, "Announce the start of the banquet. These planets are crucial to our Saiyan Empire's strategy for advancing into the West Galaxy."
On the other side, Raditz asked Bardock in confusion, "Father, why are you running so fast?"
Bardock was too embarrassed to tell his two children that he didn't want to work, so he just smiled and replied, "It's rare to have time alone with you two, so of course I have to be quick."
Broly also said excitedly, "I wonder what delicious food Mistress will make for us today?"
Bardock stroked his head and said, "You'll know when you get there!" He was still a child after all, despite acting very mature.
Bardock took Raditz and Broly back to the small wooden house in the imperial palace for lunch. Gine had already placed the dishes on the table.
Seeing the three of them, she smiled and said, "Bardock, you're back. Wash your hands and get ready to eat. Broly, come. Go wash your hands with Mistress."
Upon hearing this, Broly immediately ran over, extended his hand, and said in a childish voice, "Mistress, hug."
Gine bent down, picked up Broly, and walked toward the sink in the kitchen. She turned back to look at the father and son still standing at the door and raised her voice, "Bardock, take Raditz to wash your hands. It's time to eat."
The father and son exchanged glances, both seeing the word "helplessness" in each other's eyes.
Bardock pouted and said, "Let's go. Do you want to get scolded?"
Raditz sighed resignedly and said, "Ugh, no. Let's go."
Bardock was the first to step toward the restroom, with Raditz following behind as he said, "Why do they always pick on us?"
Bardock turned and glared at him as he said, "Stop chattering. Hurry up."
At the dinner table...
Gine smiled broadly and continuously put food on Broly's plate as she said, "Broly, eat more of this. You're growing!"
Raditz watched this scene, feeling a little jealous, and mumbled, "Mother, I'm your biological son. Why don't you care about me at all?"
Gine rolled her eyes at him and said, "You little brat, still competing with your brother for favor. Can't you eat by yourself?"
Bardock laughed heartily and said, "Raditz, don't be so petty. Broly is also a part of our family."
Raditz pouted, said nothing more, and silently ate his meal.
Gine then put another chopstick full of food on Raditz's plate and said, "Alright, don't be angry. Eat more, all of you."
Broly obediently said, "Thank you, Mistress. I will eat well."
The meal continued in such an atmosphere with a few small interruptions.
After dinner, Raditz quietly pulled Bardock aside and said aggrievedly, "Father, I think Mother loves Broly more."
Bardock stroked his head and said earnestly, "Raditz, your mother just sees Kakarot's shadow in Broly. Let's try to understand her. And your mother's love for you won't be any less."
Raditz thought of how Gine had lost her appetite after his younger brother was sent away. He said, "Alright, Father. I understand."
Just then, Broly ran over, took Raditz's hand, and said, "Brother, let's go play together."
Raditz looked at Broly's sincere eyes, and the little bit of unhappiness in his heart instantly vanished. He smiled and said, "Okay!"
The two children happily ran off to play. Bardock and Gine watched them.
Bardock said, "Gine, I need to go out for about two months."
Gine looked at him upon hearing this. She knew best what kind of man her husband was. She said, "Come back soon. The children and I will be waiting for you at home!"
