"Ahh… today's the day. Vampire Island is finally opening. Every guild member is supposed to be online — I can't be late."
Kai muttered to himself while rolling on his bed. He stretched lazily before getting up and walking toward the kitchen to grab something to eat.
That's when it hit him.
A loud voice from behind.
"Ohhh, finally the prince himself comes out of his room. What a miracle!"
Kai flinched.
"Hey, Mom! What did I do now?" he said, turning around. "My exams are over. Can't I play games now? Yeah, okay, I get it—I stayed in my room for two straight days, but it was important! I was grinding hard!"
"I wish you had studied that hard for your exams," his mom shot back. "Ahh… fine. I won't say anything now. Your exams are over anyway. Here, take these sandwiches I made for breakfast. Tea or coffee?"
"Ahh, I'll take a Monster instead."
"You'll get a slap before you get that," she replied instantly. "I'll make tea."
"Okay, okay, I was just kidding," Kai said with a grin as he walked back to his room.
He sat down in front of his PC and launched Guild Clash.
The moment the game loaded, three chat notifications popped up.
The first message mentioned a massive shortage of Dark Elixir in the Volva Guild.
The second was from his friend, saying that Vampire Island's launch had been delayed until evening.
The third message, however, felt… wrong.
It wasn't from an NPC.
It wasn't from a player.
It simply said:
Find me.
The first two didn't bother him much, but the third one lingered in his mind. Still, he brushed it off for now and headed toward the guild area.
