I awaken to a bright white light in my face and distant male speaking, groaning quietly and my face reacting to the bright light.
"Chelsea? Ms Lockheart? Can you hear me..?" A man asks as I slowly open my eyes, my hand covering the light which continues to shine on my face which blinds me.
"Y-yeah… wh-what happened..? Where..?" I begin to question, slowly sitting up as I feel a person gently push my shoulder back down onto the chair.
"Don't stress yourself. You're in no condition to be getting up." The person responds simultaneous to me regaining my sight fully, seeing the Ripperdoc just to my side and the man who rescued me on a chair near the ripper's desk.
"My name is Oliver Adams. The person who brought you here is Atlas Briggs. You tried to kill a group of Maelstromers but you ended up overclocking your cheap Cyberdeck so much that it completely fried itself. After you administered the overclock quick hack, your cyberdeck gave up and overheated as it released a massive 400 volt shock through your body and essentially melted your hardware and EMP'd both your OS and your Optics alongside the Cyberdeck too." He explains, holding up a melted piece of mangled metal in his hand, The Cyberdeck I was using.
"You're lucky you didn't flatline. Any later and it was extremely likely your heart woulda just gave up. You were going at 180BPM, higher than any human as fit and athletic as you SHOULD have survived at. You're lucky your heart didn't stop beating as soon as the shock went out." Atlas adds as he stands, walking towards me, crossing his arms.
"S-so… How'd ya find me..?" I ask weakly, hearing a loud sigh leave Atlas' lips.
"Well I heard a feminine scream near the warehouse you were at, most likely when the shock went out and I rushed towards you. I brought you to my car and drove to Oliver here as fast as I could." He answers, rubbing his temples as he looks over my form.
"Right… 'course… well… thank you… I don't see why you'd help me but thanks anyways." I respond, sitting up again as Oliver pushes me back to the chair again.
"You can't leave. Your not in fit conditio-" He emphasises as I resist against him, trying to get up.
"I don't care, i'm fine now." I speak as Atlas takes my chin and looks to me with a serious frown.
"Don't you understand that you literally almost just died? Just because we took the Cyberdeck out doesn't mean your good to go; your body is extremely sensitive and-" he backs up the ripper doc as I get out of the chair.
"I'll live." I groan as I stand, holding my heart again tears leaving my eyes once again.
"No. You won't. You'll get killed or taken by a scav as soon as you leave this office, sit back down." He says more demandingly, forcing me back in the chair.
"So why, you expect me to sit here all day "HeAlInG"? I retort with an angry and annoyed expression as he forces me in the seat with his superior strength.
"Yes. I do. I didn't save you so you can keep being you ignorant, arrogant, cold and dismissive bitch when you're in clear need of help. Please just… rest." He responds heartfeltedly, keeping me in the chair with a caring expression.
I widen my eyes as he shows his caring expression, looking to the side coldly and trying to dismiss him but my more sensitive side shows a rare hint of vulnerability and I nod gently.
"Okay…" I answer quietly and softly, continuing to look away.
