A strange and unusual place.
"Where am I..?"
I walked on a path, an empty path that just kept pulling me forward. It was dark, until I saw a bright pink light forward, I ran faster and faster trying to catch up to the light running away, trying to catch it. It was drawing me in. "Faster…faster..!" But then…
"Flowers..?"
My dream was then interrupted by loud music… "Baby your a fireeeee work…!" I groaned as I turned it off, it was my alarm.
The dream… it was so.. vivid the pink flowers were so beautiful like it's been waiting for me.
"Ciana!"
Huh? I heard my Aunt Eleanor call me. I brushed my teeth quickly, then headed downstairs while the wooden steps creaked each stair I went down. My Aunt Eleanor smiled at me.
"Ciana sweetie I made some eggs and toast."
I sat down and grabbed the toast, the burnt sensation. Eleanor always has always been a bad cook. I smiled tasting the burnt toast in my mouth chuckling.
"Aunt Eleanor your toast is just terrible!"
I swallowed the toast. Aunt Eleanor laughed "I'm not the best cook."
Aunt Eleanor had been here for me since I was a child, even when we have not a single drop of blood relation. She took me in when my parents died, she took care of me and smiled at me even when she didn't have a lot herself. I took a bite of the scrambled eggs, as expected too much salt and pepper, but that's just Aunt Eleanor. She's not the best cook, But she's been here for me through my miserable years thick and thin.
"Go change Ciana, you wouldn't want to be late for your first day at the academy would ya?"
Right. Today was my first day at Valkeryie Academy! The academy I barely got in at a whim. Originally I was not accepted but turns out one of the students were cheating during the entrance exam. Valkeryie is the most prestigious academy for highschoolers in the entire country! It's a miracle I even got in huh? I ran upstairs, the wooden steps made a creeking noise each step up. I went in my room and took out a clean white box from under my bed. I had been taking care of my expensive uniform for so long! And now I finally have the chance to wear it out. The uniform that costed half my life's allowance. Oh my poor eight hundred dollars… but in the end, it was all worth it.
The uniform came in 4 colors depending on your grade. Red for freshmen or you could say the uniform I'm going to wear! The order was, red for freshmen, blue for sophomores, green for juniors and yellow for seniors! Usually you wouldn't be excited about school, but that's only if there's nothing special about it. But to me who is going to highschool and got accepted to a prestigious school, isn't this a dream come true?
I tightened my bow as I looked in the mirror. I felt good, the red I wore looked very fancy, I can see my future becoming brighter and brighter, my hands trembled as I grabbed my bag, I had it in many cute keychains!
"Today's going to be perfect! And nothing will—"
"—Stop it…"
I groaned I had been so excited about school and perfecting my looks that I had missed the bus.
"What a good start…"
I felt a cold dash of wind as I stood at the bus stop.
"So cold… why today of all days…?"
suddenly felt my heart beating faster, right. Today is my first day at school, at Valkeryie academy, my whole future depended on it. But what should I do? I couldn't help but feel gloom settling in.
And then that's when I saw… yellow hair?
A girl with yellow hair and messy buns… "Merilynn?"
"Is that Ciana?"
I heard a voice as they opened the car window.
I blinked.
"Is that… melody?"
"Oh wow wait— that really is Ciana! Hey Ciana never thought I'd meet you here!"
The girl chuckled.
And as it turns out it was the rich notorious twins—Merilynn and Melody.
They were my classmates in middle school, and both were without a doubt, popular.
Melody sat perfectly straight, her hair was in a high tightened ponytail and she had a huge confident smile throughout her face, while on the other hand,
Merilynn looked like she was hit by a bus, her hair was a mess and her hands were cover in pastels, it looks like she was painting last night and tried washing the pastels off but failed to do so. Anyone could tell she either slept very late… or didn't sleep at all.
The twins were about to leave before Meriylnn perked up, her eyes landing on my outfit.
"Hey what a coincidence! Me and Melody are just going to Valkeryie academy as well!" She proudly showed her uniform.
"Oh wow! Your going to Valkeryie too Ciana? You know the orientation starts in twenty— minutes for us before the gate closes right?"
I stared at them before sighing.
"I—uhm… missed…bus." I spoke softly and looked up at them. This is so awkward! I felt like crying from the embarrassment.
I hear Merilynn laugh, she was laughing as tears came out her eyes and it took a good ten seconds before she calmed down and wiped her tears.
"W-wow— Ciana you could've just said so, no need to be so awkward!" She spoke in a shaky voice. Yup she was definitely holding back a laughter. I just smiled glumly, yup she definitely helped with my initial embarrassment.
Melody also chuckled and smiled.
"If you need a ride feel free to come up on, we will happily help an old classmate."
I perked up, are these girls twin angels? I felt burdened but since there's no other option I got on their car. Their driver starts the car. Wow, being rich really has its perks.
"it's…so…—"
"—Luxurious?"
I look at Merilynn who had a huge grin on her face while staring at me.
"It's written all over you're face! We've seen that look before from other friends."
I felt embarrassed. Gahh! I want to die in a hole…not only am I on the same car as my classmates from middle school l was also standing there at the bus station when the bus already passed!
Merilynn covered her mouth with her hand as she chuckled then spoke in a teasing tone,
"Oh my~ have I embarrassed an old classmate?"
Melody chuckled trying to hold back a smirk.
"Come on Merilynn~ let it go, after all she's already a tomato!"
I was about to say something to rebel against their teasing but the driver interrupted.
"We have arrived."
My mind went blank and I immediately turned my head to the window.
Valkeryie academy.
This was only the beginning.
