Inside a distant binary star system, destruction spread like a plague across the void. After the Alliance of Gods fleet retreated, the Void Sentinel drifted through space like a walking apocalypse, reducing everything in sight to ash. Planets shattered beneath crimson blasts. Moons cracked apart like brittle glass. Even the remains of destroyed warships were vaporized without mercy.
Anything that showed the slightest trace of life immediately became a target.
"Burn… burn… burn…"
The Void Sentinel floated above the remains of a dead world, laughing to himself in a twisted, almost childlike tone. The collapsing planet reflected in his blood-red eyes while fragments of molten rock drifted around him like scattered embers.
Killing and destruction were his favorite forms of entertainment. In fact, they were the only things that made him feel alive anymore.
The endless energy boiling inside his body constantly pushed him toward violence. Every massacre released some of that pressure and gave him temporary relief. Only destruction made him comfortable.
The original personality had tried to suppress that energy. Tried to protect people. Tried to resist the darkness clawing through his mind.
What a pathetic idiot.
Suppressing the power only made the pain worse.
The Void Sentinel slowly lifted his head and looked toward the twin stars orbiting each other in the distance. Dark crimson light flickered inside his pupils as excitement spread across his face.
Destroying planets was fun.
Destroying stars was better.
Just as he prepared to fly forward, a golden portal suddenly opened more than ten thousand kilometers away. Ripples of space folded outward while a massive figure clad in purple armor stepped through calmly.
The instant the Void Sentinel saw him, a savage grin stretched across his broken face.
"Well, well… if it isn't the purple potato monster."
During the battle in deep space earlier, Thanos had escaped too quickly for him to finish the kill. The Void Sentinel had actually felt irritated about that.
But now fate had delivered the target back to him personally.
This time, he would tear the Titan apart and complete his perfect killing spree.
The thought alone made his excitement spike violently.
Meanwhile, Thanos simply looked at him with cold indifference. There wasn't even a trace of caution in his eyes.
He genuinely despised this version of the Sentinel.
Before gaining his power, the man had been nothing more than a worthless addict. Weak-minded. Weak-bodied. Completely ordinary.
Then fate handed him overwhelming power he had never earned.
And naturally, that power consumed him.
Unlike the Void Sentinel, every ounce of Thanos' strength had been forged through endless cultivation, battle, pain, and sacrifice. He had clawed his way upward step by step over centuries.
The difference between them was obvious.
As the Void Sentinel rushed forward, Thanos spoke in a low voice.
"System. Use the power of ten million stars to erase the cooldown."
The Ultimate Evolution Module gave no verbal response.
But in the next instant, an unimaginable surge of power exploded from Thanos' body.
BOOM!
The surrounding space itself distorted violently. Black cracks spread across the vacuum like shattered glass as if reality could no longer contain the energy radiating from him.
Even the twin stars in the distance seemed to pause for a fraction of a second.
The Void Sentinel froze mid-flight.
His expression instantly changed.
Fear.
Pure fear.
For the first time since his birth, he felt something overwhelming enough to make his instincts scream in terror.
"How… how is this possible?"
His body trembled uncontrollably.
The pressure rolling off Thanos was dozens of times greater than his own. The difference wasn't small. It was absolute.
Thanos sneered before disappearing from sight.
The Void Sentinel's pupils shrank instantly. Countless dark-red energy tendrils erupted behind him, twisting together into a massive defensive wall.
A second later—
BOOM!
Thanos' fist smashed through the energy construct effortlessly.
The tendrils exploded apart like paper while the punch continued forward without losing momentum, slamming directly into the Void Sentinel's face.
Blood and shattered teeth burst outward instantly.
The Void Sentinel's eyeballs nearly popped from their sockets as his body rocketed backward through space.
But before he could stabilize himself, Thanos vanished again.
A flash of purple appeared behind him.
CRACK!
A brutal knee strike slammed into the Sentinel's spine.
The sound of bones shattering echoed clearly through the vacuum.
"AAAAAH!"
The Void Sentinel released the first true scream of his existence.
The pain was unimaginable.
His body folded violently before being launched forward again at terrifying speed. Yet before he could even react, Thanos reappeared in front of him once more.
This time, the Titan clasped both fists together overhead and brought them crashing down onto the Sentinel's chest.
BOOOOM!
The Void Sentinel spat out massive amounts of blood as his chest visibly collapsed inward.
For the next several minutes, he experienced absolute hell.
What he had originally imagined as a fun hunt transformed into a nightmare of endless pain.
Every attempt to retaliate failed completely.
Whenever he tried to gather energy, Thanos interrupted him with another devastating blow. Whenever he tried to flee, the Titan appeared directly in his path.
Punches.
Knees.
Elbows.
Kicks.
The attacks came relentlessly, like a storm that never stopped.
The difference between them was simply too large.
Whether it was physical strength, combat instinct, durability, or raw energy output, the gap was insurmountable.
What made things even more horrifying was that Thanos was clearly restraining himself.
If the Void Sentinel realized that the Titan wasn't even fighting seriously yet, he probably would have collapsed mentally on the spot.
More than ten minutes later, the Void Sentinel no longer looked human.
His face was mangled beyond recognition. Bones protruded from multiple parts of his body. One arm hung completely limp while chunks of flesh floated through space around him.
Thanos finally stopped attacking.
The anger inside him had faded somewhat.
This universe was filled with absurd cheats and lucky monsters. Sometimes it made centuries of hard work feel meaningless.
Five hundred years of cultivation.
Five hundred years of struggle.
And yet some people could surpass all of it through sheer luck.
The only reason Thanos could still stand above them was because his own efforts had reached a terrifying level.
Looking at the unconscious Void Sentinel drifting nearby, Thanos grabbed him by one leg like discarded trash before opening a portal.
"Deep Blue," he said calmly, "tell the Black Order, Laufey, Hela, and the Ancient One to continue fighting."
The next second, both of them disappeared.
Inside Temple Number Two, a heavy crash echoed through the hall.
BANG!
Thanos casually threw the Void Sentinel onto the floor like a dead dog before returning to his throne.
At this moment, the power of ten million stars still raged inside his body.
After all, suppressing a single Sentinel hardly consumed much energy.
Not even close.
The real problem was that his body still couldn't withstand such terrifying power permanently. Eventually, the excess energy would have to be released somehow.
Leaning against his throne, Thanos stared thoughtfully at the unconscious Sentinel lying nearby.
Then his eyes narrowed slightly.
Maybe he had gone a little too far.
The man was completely unconscious now. Using the Mind Stone to control him would be far more difficult in this condition.
After thinking for a moment, Thanos decided to play it safe.
He stood up and walked over before casually kicking the Sentinel's head several more times.
BANG!
BANG!
BANG!
After confirming the man was barely breathing, Thanos nodded in satisfaction.
Only then did he activate the Space Stone again.
Space folded around him instantly.
A moment later, his surroundings changed completely.
An enormous crimson star filled his vision.
Its sheer scale was almost impossible to comprehend.
Stevenson 2-18.
The largest known star in the Milky Way.
A monstrous red supergiant located within the Scutum constellation, with a diameter measuring nearly 2.9 billion kilometers. Its terrifying surface temperature reached over 3.2 million degrees Celsius.
Unlike the young stars Thanos usually used for cultivation, this one was ancient.
Dying.
Its unstable energy constantly fluctuated as if it could collapse into a white dwarf or black hole at any moment.
Attempting to cultivate inside such a star was extremely dangerous.
Normally, even Thanos would never take such a risk recklessly.
But now, with the overwhelming energy of ten million stars roaring through his body like a cosmic flood, he no longer hesitated.
Without another word, he plunged directly into the massive red supergiant.
