Chapter 96 - Chapter 96 – Promises Between the Lines

PK sat quietly through the last few minutes of class, his thoughts drifting far beyond textbooks and lectures.

I have authority now, he reflected. But authority without achievement is just empty weight.

Power had landed in his hands earlier than expected, yet he hadn't truly done anything with it. No concrete contribution. No undeniable proof. That realization settled deep in his chest.

After class, PK left campus with Lana and Luna, the three of them returning to Law Manor together. The moment they stepped inside, Eve was already waiting near the entrance, arms folded, eyes sharp and observant.

Her gaze immediately dropped to Lana and Luna's lips.

Swollen. Slightly red.

The twins froze.

Lana coughed lightly.

Luna looked away.

Eve raised an eyebrow. "Interesting."

Before either of them could react, PK stepped forward without a word, cupped Eve's face, and kissed her—slow at first, then deliberately, leaving no room for protest. When he finally pulled back, Eve was staring at him, breath a little uneven, lips no better off than the twins'.

PK smiled in satisfaction.

"Now it's fair."

Lana and Luna burst out laughing, the awkwardness instantly melting away.

They moved to the living room, settling down comfortably. PK explained everything that had happened at college—the Dean's reaction, the Army Head's authority, the accelerated degree option. As he spoke, Eve listened intently, surprise flickering across her face more than once.

"That's… impressive," she admitted. "And dangerous."

Lana and Luna, however, had gone unusually quiet.

PK noticed it immediately.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

The twins exchanged a glance. Finally, Luna spoke, her voice softer than usual.

"If you finish college early… what about us?"

Lana nodded quickly.

"Are we supposed to stay here without you? Go to class alone while you move on?"

PK blinked.

He genuinely hadn't seen that coming.

"Wait—that's what you're worried about?" he asked, half-amused, half-stunned.

The twins pouted in perfect synchronization.

"Yes," they said together.

PK leaned back, rubbing his temples, then let out a laugh.

"I thought you'd be happy I was finishing early. Not planning my disappearance."

Lana scooted closer and poked his chest.

"You're not allowed to level up alone."

Luna added, "That's cheating."

Eve watched the scene with an amused smile, saying nothing.

PK sighed dramatically, then opened his arms.

"Alright. Come here."

Both twins immediately leaned into him.

"I won't leave you behind," PK said calmly. "If I finish early, I'll make sure you both do too. I'll help you. Tutor you. Drag you if needed."

Lana's eyes lit up.

"Promise?"

"Promise," PK replied.

Luna smiled brightly.

"Then it's fine."

Eve shook her head slightly, smiling.

"You're really spoiling them."

PK glanced at her.

"Only because they're mine."

The room grew quiet for a moment—warm, comfortable, filled with unspoken understanding.

Outside, the world was beginning to shift.

Inside Law Manor, PK had just made another promise he fully intended to keep.
