Chapter 459 - You are not a human being!

Wade seemed a bit too extreme.

At this moment, madness was fully displayed in his eyes; if he were in the Warhammer Universe, he would surely be blessed by Khorne.

"No need, I have my own plan."

Emrys advised, sounding quite helpless.

"Are you worried I'll be exposed?" Wade's face was devoid of expression as he spoke, like a weathered rock.

"Don't worry, I've made contingency plans, and I'm not the one planting the bombs."

"Not you?"

Emrys' mouth twitched, and a terrifying thought emerged.

"It's exactly as you're thinking. The ETO organization contacted me privately not long ago."

Wade slowly exhaled a puff of smoke, the corners of his lips subtly upturned.

"I used some of your intelligence to gain their trust. These bombs… I instigated them to plant them in the United Nations conference room. Of course, I'll tell you the time and location of the explosion in advance, so you can prepare. No one will suspect us."

...Awesome!

After hearing Wade's 'mad plan,' Emrys almost gave him a thumbs up.

He truly was the 'talent' he had recognized!

Just this level of dedication and madness made him an excellent prospect for an 'Inquisitor.'

Only in the 'Three-Body world' was this possible; if Wade had been born in the Warhammer Universe, he would have been a famous Inquisitor, no matter what!

At the very least, he was perfectly suited for it.

"Your idea is good, but please keep it at the conceptual level."

Emrys still rejected his proposal.

It wasn't because he was soft-hearted, but because it was unnecessary. Besides, a dead Wallfacer was far less useful than one to live.

"Alright…" Seeing his persistence, Wade could only give up the idea. He flicked his cigarette butt away and said expressionlessly.

"Don't worry about the bombs; I'll find someone to clean it up. Don't disappoint me… Emrys."

Seeing more and more people enter the room, Wade turned and left without hesitation.

Just then, UN Secretary-General Say also entered. Seeing Emrys by the door, she wore a professional, fake smile.

"Mr. Emrys, please follow me. The hearing is about to begin."

"Of course, Ms. Say."

Emrys followed Say's steps, a gentle smile on his lips.

The United Nations conference room was already packed.

The huge conference hall was bustling with noise. At a glance, representatives from countries all over the world gathered, along with people from various social strata.

On the circular platform at the front sat the five representatives of the Planetary Defense Council, who would be responsible for the final verdict of this 'hearing.'

Of course, considering Emrys' 'superpowers,' the Planetary Defense Council had also implemented corresponding restrictions.

He needed to enter a completely enclosed hearing seat, resembling a 'flue,' made of an unknown metal, with eight facets and ten meters high.

It was called a 'hearing seat,' but in reality, it felt more like a 'prison.'

As if fearing Emrys might 'misunderstand,' Secretary-General Say stepped forward, wearing a professional smile.

"Mr. Emrys, I apologize, but before the hearing concludes, considering your safety, and to prevent the ETO organization from repeating the terrorist attack on the Tesseract last time, we ask you to enter here."

Looking at the completely enclosed 'hearing seat' that resembled a prison, Emrys chuckled softly, then turned to look meaningfully at the Secretary-General.

"Ms. Say, are you sure… this is to ensure my safety?"

"Of course, Mr. Emrys."

Say's expression was a bit stiff, but she still forced herself to say.

"We are entirely considering your safety; we have no other intentions."

"Is that so? I thought it was…"

Emrys said with a hint of deeper meaning.

"You're afraid of my superpowers, so you specially built such a 'cage' to prevent me from causing you any harm during the hearing."

"You jest, Mr. Emrys." Say's expression subtly changed but was quickly masked.

"You are the fourth Wallfacer appointed by the Planetary Defense Council. From a legal perspective, you represent humanity's hope against the Trisolarans. How could we do such a thing? The council members, including everyone here, are on your side."

"That's good, that's good."

Emrys looked relieved, but as he was about to enter, his steps halted midway.

Say, who had just breathed a sigh of relief, felt her heart leap into her throat again.

"Mr. Emrys?"

"Oh, nothing, I just wanted to ask…" Emrys suddenly turned around, a faint blue light flashing deep in his eyes, shooting into Say's.

"What if the outcome of the hearing isn't satisfactory? You wouldn't imprison me in here, would you?"

"You worry too much, Mr. Emrys."

Say, whose eyes had been struck by the blue light, didn't feel anything amiss and thought it was her imagination. She still smiled and said.

"No matter what, you are humanity's 'hope,' one of the four Wallfacers."

"Good, I believe you, Ms. Say."

Emrys smiled, then walked directly into the 'hearing seat' specially prepared for him.

Once inside, he discovered it was 'a world of its own.'

The eight facets within were embedded with display screens, showing the flags of various countries. Directly in front of him, at eye level, were the flags representing the Planetary Defense Council and the 'Five Great Benevolents.'

"I declare the hearing for the Fourth Wallfacer officially open."

With Say's voice, the noisy United Nations conference room instantly fell into an eerie silence.

Emrys, inside the 'hearing seat,' also saw the members participating in this hearing on these display screens.

Frederick Taylor, Bill Hines, Manuel Rey Diaz—these three were considered his 'colleagues' and were also invited to the hearing, and their opinions would be adopted by the council.

The first to speak was, surprisingly, the French council member whom Wade had mentioned.

"Mr. Emrys Emrys, in light of the public opinion spread by ETO, we need to conduct a 'check-up' on you."

The balding man with sparse blonde hair, even through the display screen, made Emrys feel the 'greed' hidden in his eyes.

"This room has professional light scanning. Without drawing blood or conducting tests, it can detect your genes and biological characteristics. If you are truly human, we are willing to apologize to you."

"Alright."

Emrys showed no concern at all, nodding as if very compliant.

Soon, he felt an invisible radiation scanning his entire body.

The results were simultaneously displayed on the screens of the various UN representatives.

The scan results showed that the individual named 'Emrys Emrys,' in terms of biological characteristics and genetic sequencing, did not belong to 'humanity' as currently understood by modern biological science. Their genes were similar, but definitely not of the same sequence.

"You're really not human!!!"

The US representative, unable to sit still, completely lost control of his greed, roaring and slamming the table.

"I knew at a glance you weren't human! How dare you disguise yourself as human and conspire to seize the power of a Wallfacer? Tell me: what exactly do you want to do?!"
