The battle on Draconys grew increasingly desperate and chaotic.
Ever since the Greenkskin Ork Warboss, 'Bonebreaka', led a large number of Ork clans and tribes to join the chaotic war on Draconys, the Chaos Daemons entrenched on this blasphemous world, including the world Eaters Legion, vented all their infernal rage on these damned xenos.
The reason was simple.
The world Eaters and Khorne's Daemon Legions couldn't find the elusive Dark Angels.
Under Emrys' leadership, the Dark Angels and the Children of the Forest were like ghosts on Draconys , always appearing unexpectedly, striking with lightning speed, giving them no time to react, carrying out quick strikes, suppression, rescue, and destruction, then withdrawing before they could be discovered.
They couldn't be caught, they were as annoying as flies!
And as the Dark Angels' operations continued, more and more successor chapters joined the action, causing Khorne's Daemon Legions to become increasingly agitated, turning their aggression towards the meddling Greenkskin Orks!
If it weren't for these damned xenos, how could the Dark Angels have escaped the encirclement?!
Unable to find the Dark Angels, and unable to catch Emrys, the world Eaters, including the Daemon Primarch and Daemon Princes, could only direct their fury towards the Orks.
Thus, this scene unfolded.
The Greenkskin Orks, who had just entered the fray, were immediately hunted down by Khorne's Daemon Legions, as well as the world Eaters Legion, Daemon Princes, and the Daemon Primarch!
Even though Bonebreaka was exceptionally gifted and valiant in battle, he couldn't withstand the combined assault of the world Eaters, Daemon Primarch, and Daemon Princes.
After several encounters, he was beaten to a pulp, scurrying away with his tail between his legs, and the Greenkskin Ork clans and tribes he brought were crushed by the even larger Daemon Legions, their situation even worse than the Dark Angels' had been!
Greenkskin Orks are formidable, and they reproduce quickly, but the problem is, who hasn't seen them before?
The world Eaters Legion also knew how to curb these fanatical 'Mushroom Men', practically burning everything in their path, giving the Orks no chance to multiply!
As long as the Greenkskins aren't given time to grow, they're nothing to worry about!
Draconys was originally a trap set to lure the Dark Angels and capture 'Emrys'; if it was destroyed, it was destroyed. Chaos didn't care what would become of this world.
Under Chaos' 'scorched earth' strategy, it could be said that Bonebreaka was beaten half to death before he even had a chance to make a name for himself.
But it must be said here that Bonebreaka most likely still had 'protection'.
Several times, Bonebreaka was caught by the enraged Angron and the Daemon Princes, nearly beaten to death, but in the end, he always managed to escape by sheer luck.
If there wasn't the 'Gork and Mork' brothers secretly helping him, Emrys wouldn't believe it.
"Stop, you little shrimp!"
A low growl interrupted Emrys' thoughts. He stopped and looked ahead.
In the muddy swamp, a green-skinned Ork was pointing a dilapidated, scrap-metal-pieced-together gun at his head.
Human?
The Greenkskin kid, out of curiosity, tilted his head, examining the 'little shrimp' opposite him.
He was wearing very fancy clothes, looking 'shiny', which was why the Greenkskin kid didn't immediately shoot him.
These shiny things wouldn't be worth anything if they were broken!
A hint of greed appeared in its eyes.
"Shiny, take off your clothes and give them to me!"
"Do you want them?"
Emrys was completely unfazed. Although he was being held at gunpoint, if he wished, he could instantly blast its head with his psychic powers.
"I can give you more, shiny good things, but in return—you have to do me a small favor."
"What are you saying? I don't understand!"
Unfortunately, the Greenkskin kid didn't understand at all, shaking its head like a rattle-drum, pushing the gun forward a few more inches.
With a menacing face, it said.
"Hurry up, take off your things, these are all mine!"
"Alright."
Emrys was a bit helpless; these ordinary Greenkskins were completely impossible to communicate with normally.
Click!
Suddenly, a figure appeared from the shadows, pressing a bolter against the Greenkskin kid's head, while its own weapon was crushed.
This was an Angel of the Dark Angels' Honor Guard.
His power armor was inlaid with numerous honor badges, and his helmet was adorned with a wreath, making him an outstanding presence even within the Honor Guard.
"Lord, these heretics should be dealt with in the most direct way," he said, pressing down the bolter, grabbing the Greenkskin kid's head, his deep, hoarse voice emanating from his daemon-like helmet.
"Now, he speaks, you obey—
If you dare to refuse, I will confine you to an environment without sound, without light, completely isolated from your kin, in absolute darkness, so you can never participate in war, far from the Loki you worship."
The Greenkskin kid visibly trembled.
"I will not let you die," he whispered like a daemon into the Greenkskin Ork kid's ear.
"You will never attain the reality of death. You will forever be imprisoned in darkness, without light, without sound, far from the Loki you worship. I promise—the place I prepare for you will be absolutely quiet, absolutely dark!"
Greenkskin Orks are naturally fearless of pain, war, or death; these only ignite their fanaticism.
Thus, making an Ork fear is an extremely difficult task.
But coincidentally, the Dark Angels, in their years of hunting the Fallen Angels, knew exactly how to instill fear in these Orks.
Extreme sensory deprivation, and a completely isolated environment, preventing them from feeling pain or dying—this was the greatest punishment for an Ork!
The Greenkskin kid's eyes clearly became much clearer, and it struggled to shout in a flurry.
"I'll listen! I'll listen!"
To be confined in such a place, it would be better to just kill it quickly!
Emrys twitched his lips.
Well, all his efforts were not as effective as a single threat from someone else. It had to be an 'Inner Circle' member; truly professional!
"You may speak, lord."
The Honor Guard member bowed to Emrys.
"You weren't perhaps associated with Asmodai before, were you?" Emrys asked.
"I have participated in several interrogations," the Honor Guard member nodded.
"This is what I learned from them.
It's enough to handle this."
The terrifying Inner Circle members were indeed not to be underestimated.
"Help me relay to your Warboss, the great Bonebreaka Salaka," Emrys flicked his finger, tossing a shiny-looking crystal to the captive Greenkskin kid.
"There is now an opportunity that will make Bonebreaka's renown echo throughout the entire Milky Way Galaxy, an opportunity that will make those hateful Daemons tremble and fear at his name, and I—the humble Rogue Trader, Merlin Emrys, bring this opportunity."
The Greenkskin kid scratched its head, staring at Emrys, who seemed like an orator, and after a few seconds, said.
"I don't understand, too complicated, can't remember."
Emrys choked, almost losing his composure.
All that passionate, eloquent speech he'd delivered, this guy hadn't understood a single word of it!
He took a deep breath, trying to reassure himself that it was normal for Greenkskin Orks to be brainless, no need to care too much—then, he forced a smile.
"Then tell your boss that I—will bring you a bigger, more Waaagh, more intense, and more dominant war!"
"Understood."
The Greenkskin kid scratched its head, and this time, a hint of disdain actually appeared in its vacant, beady eyes.
"War, bigger, better!"
Don't get angry, don't get angry.
Emrys comforted himself internally.
He was a Rogue Trader, an Imperial noble; why argue with these brainless, all-muscle idiots?
Emrys tried hard to control his expression.
"Very good, just like that. Go, and when you've done this, I will give you more shiny spoils of war!"
Then, he motioned for the Dark Angel to release it.
The Greenkskin kid, clutching the shiny crystal, happily turned and disappeared into the swamp, vanishing in a flash.
"Lord, will this really work?" The Dark Angel of the Honor Guard expressed doubt.
"Let's try it."
Emrys pinched the bridge of his nose. After a few words with the Greenkskin, he felt like he had lost hundreds of thousands of brain cells.
He was too tired.
"If it doesn't work, then we'll just have to try the second plan," he said, looking in the direction where the Greenkskin kid had disappeared.
The second plan was to directly break into Bonebreaka's location, but doing so carried too much risk; it was easy to get beaten up.
