Chapter 81: The First Wave of Bombardment
Child Emperor licked his lollipop, watching Tatsumaki throw a tantrum in mid-air, and sighed helplessly.
Sigh... here we go again...
Superalloy Darkshine shrank his neck into his shoulders, his shiny black muscles seeming to dim a little.
Oh dear, Miss Tatsumaki is angry again. An angry Tatsumaki is truly terrifying. Better keep my head down.
Drive Knight sat silently, his red mechanical eye staring straight ahead, thoughts unknown.
Tanktop Master felt the terrifying burst of psychic power and was so scared his tank top seemed to shrink a bit.
Damn it! Is this the power of ESP? I refuse to believe muscles will lose to psychokinesis! I'm doing 10,000 squats when I get back!
Pig God and Flashy Flash just glanced over, then went back to doing their own things.
Pig God continued eating. Flashy Flash twirled the ends of his hair around his finger like a beauty doing haircare.
The only one who stood up was the hot-tempered delinquent, Metal Bat. He pointed his bat at Tatsumaki with an annoyed expression.
"Oi! I skipped my little sister's piano recital to come to this meeting! Do you know what kind of loss that is?! I didn't come here to watch a brat throw a tantrum!"
King rubbed his temples helplessly. Seeing Sitch's troubled expression, he sighed silently.
Looks like I have to step in, or Hurricane Tatsumaki won't stop anytime soon.
Tatsumaki, who was busy roasting Saitama, suddenly found herself targeted by Metal Bat. She turned her firepower toward him, ready to scold him too.
"HAH?! You—"
"That's enough. This assembly is definitely for something important. Save the other matters for later."
A steady voice resonated through the conference room. Tatsumaki, Metal Bat, and Saitama all turned their eyes to the source.
Seeing that it was King who spoke, the room fell silent for a moment.
Metal Bat clicked his tongue in annoyance but put away his bat and sat back down obediently, muttering a low threat:
"Stinking brat. After the meeting, I'm gonna spank you with my bat!"
Hearing this, Tatsumaki almost exploded again.
But catching a glimpse of King's calm face out of the corner of her eye, a flicker of apprehension crossed her gaze. She chose to retract her psychic aura, crossed her arms, and sat back down.
She hadn't forgotten her battle with King.
Back then, she had used her full power, even overloading her psychic abilities, yet she was effortlessly crushed by King without even knowing how she lost.
Although she still acted tsundere and refused to admit it verbally, in her heart, Tatsumaki had already placed King above herself.
Perhaps only slightly weaker than Blast.
Seeing the two ticking time bombs stop arguing, Saitama gave King a thumbs up.
As expected of King. He actually stopped those two grumpy kids.
Confirming the room was quiet, King turned his gaze to the bewildered Sitch.
"Mr. Sitch, the meeting can begin."
"Oh! Oh, right!"
Seeing the two who were about to fight turn into obedient children in an instant, Sitch hadn't recovered yet. King's reminder brought him back to reality.
As expected of the Strongest Man on Earth. Suppressing two enraged S-Class heroes with a single sentence. Truly terrifying.
Sitch admired him secretly, then walked to the head of the table, his tone suddenly becoming serious.
"Everyone... the Earth might be destroyed."
Hearing this, all the S-Class heroes present frowned.
But this time, Sitch seemed very urgent. Before anyone could ask questions, he continued:
"The Great Seer, Madame Shibabawa, gave a prophecy just an hour ago: 'The Earth is in trouble.' Madame Shibabawa's prophecies are never wrong."
Metal Bat was confused. He thought this meeting was just about work adjustments or maybe a large Dragon-level disaster. He didn't expect to hear that the Earth was going to be destroyed right off the bat.
Are you kidding? If the Earth is destroyed, what happens to my little sister?!
Thinking of this, Metal Bat instantly became anxious. He asked fiercely:
"Mr. Sitch! Explain what this is about! Why is the Earth going to be destroyed? Could that old hag Shibabawa be wrong this time?!"
Other S-Class heroes had the same question, but since Metal Bat asked first, they waited for the answer.
Sitch shook his head, then turned his gaze to King.
"Madame Shibabawa's prophecies have never been wrong. Moreover, this prophecy wasn't first raised by her, but was foreseen in advance by Mr. King."
"Unlike Madame Shibabawa's vague prophecy, Mr. King accurately predicted the location of the disaster and described the specific process in detail."
Sitch then relayed everything King had told him about the upcoming disaster to the S-Class heroes, including the arrival of the Universe Dominator Boros, his alien fleet, and the surprise attack that would destroy City A.
For a moment, even the S-Class heroes, who were all superhuman in their own right, struggled to process this massive amount of information.
What the hell? Our job is fighting monsters. Since when did we jump to fighting aliens?
But no matter how unbelievable it sounded, this information came not only from the Great Seer but was also a prophecy from King, the Strongest Man on Earth.
The S-Class heroes might not trust Shibabawa fully, but they trusted King.
Just then, King and Saitama suddenly looked up, their eyes turning serious simultaneously.
"Tatsumaki. Those aliens are here. They are about to launch the first wave of bombardment on City A. You and I need to intercept those shells."
As his voice fell, King took a step forward. His body turned into a streak of light and vanished from the conference room.
Tatsumaki stretched lazily, looking annoyed.
"I know, I know! Honestly! Ordering me around like that!"
Despite her complaints, Tatsumaki didn't delay. Wrapped in her psychic aura, she turned into a green light and disappeared from the room.
